Waiting for a reply to my complaint email. Staff lovely, location great, breakfast good BUT the room was appalling. Bed sheets obviously not changed since last guests, matress very stained, toilet filthy, kettle unusable, cups unwashed. My friends room the other side of the hotel was perfect. Open the curtains to see the rooms opposite wasnt nice. Didn't expect top class for the price but a clean room would have been nice. Asked for rooms close due to medical requirements, on arrival was offered same floor but 2 lobby's and a long walk separated us.

We had a reservation from 8–12 March but unfortunately had to leave the hotel on the first night due to a serious safety incident. On 8 March at around 23:00, while we were inside our room, someone opened the door using a key card and began entering. This was extremely alarming. When we reported it to reception, we were told it was a maintenance worker who mistakenly believed the room was empty. Regardless of the explanation, the fact that someone could access an occupied room without warning is a major breach of privacy and security. After this happened we no longer felt safe staying in the hotel and decided to leave that same night and book another hotel. We contacted the hotel afterwards requesting a refund for the unused nights, but this was refused and instead we were offered a 20% discount on a future stay. Unfortunately, this response did not adequately address the seriousness of the situation

Location: depending on which way you're coming from, you can get to this Hotel easily using a few transport options like busses and trams. Depending where we were, Google Maps would recommend us to go to Bos en Lommerweg via tram on 19 to Sloterdijk or to Solebaystraat via Bus on 21. The atmosphere of the hotel gives a boutique impression. However, it only goes as far as looks. I don't think there's anything particularly special about this hotel, but we were only using it as a base for our exploration, only returning when our day was over. The rooms were fine. We chose a Superior Twin Room. It was pleasant enough. Bed, Tea and Coffee making facilities, a fridge, a safe, a few hangers, scales (?), an AC unit, and a TV with channels for every languages including BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four, and a few news and documentary channels, as well as the ability to cast Netflix/Prime/Spotify or other services to the TV, and Youtube. The bathroom had a wash basin, toilet and shower (with rainfall head and a handheld head too), hand soap, shower wash and shampoo. It also had a large mirror in there which was backlit (good for make-up). Plenty of towels too. Nothing to see outside of the window. Just a wall which you can see over, but some sort of storage area below. Honestly, we didn't pay for a view, so it was absolutely fine. In terms of value, this is a budget hotel. Don't expect anything fancy. I don't know why this hotel is listed as a Special Hotel because it's just a hotel. Compare it to a UK Travelodge. Cheap and cheerful. We found the rooms and the general indoor parts of the hotel to be clean. Upon entrance, we did notice that the mat that leads into the hotel seemed to have been there for a LONG time because the paving stones underneath the mat had imprinted into the mat in dirt. First impressions are everything, so having a clean mat would be a great idea. Sometimes when people were closing their room doors, you would hear and feel them quite a lot. I have always been taught to make sure that doors don't slam, but clearly many haven't, including those that return at 1am. Also, you can often hear the noise of peoples phones (or possibly other things) vibrating upstairs and in the rooms around you. In terms of the service, at check-in, the staff member seemed unusually fixated on the €400 charge for smoking in the room. He repeated it several times and made a big deal out of it. As non-smokers, it felt a bit excessive and not the warmest way to start the stay. But we signed the disclaimer because it wasn't an issue for us. They also mentioned that they had bike hire, gave a quick rundown of the local amenities in the area, and we noticed a small selection of snacks and cold drinks which is for sale in the lobby. It's expensive, but great to have it if you need a bottle of water and you don't want to venture out! We needed another pillow after getting back to the hotel. We returned at around 10:30pm, asked for the pillow at reception, and was told tha

Such a great hotel ! Really good connection to central Amsterdam . Either a 30 minute walk or a 10 minute train ( station is 2 stops on tram ) The service from all of the staff were fantastic ! I have stayed in many 5* hotels and was very worried looking at the reviews but honestly I had such a fab time . The rooms are very spacious and bed was very comfortable ! I was greeted my reception staff Nahid ( apologies if incorrect name ) - It’s the pretty Moroccan girl with the curly hair . SHE WAS INCREDIBLE! . She made me feel very safe and comfortable. Trust me you have nothing to worry about . YOU ARE IN SAFE HANDS . This lovely hotel deserves better reviews than it currently does . I plan to visit Amsterdam next week and I’m hoping to stay here again ❤️

Very rubbish room, just to cheat Chinese people, only rated three points on Google

The hotel room was average no kettle no cups no rail for the pathetic built in wardrobe. All grand in the hallways but the rooms dont match the hotel. The manager is the most argumentative arrogant person ive ever met very rude to people thinks hes gods gift. If you fancy a good argument and a rubbish room feel free. Also they have removed the small button on the shower to stop you having a hot hot shower. Creepy place and wouldn't trust the staff

We did not choose this hotel to begin with we were placed there after another hotel overbooked us. When we arrived they knew we were coming after communicating with the other hotel so check in was easy. We are taken up to our room which was helpful to ask questions. The vibe of the hotel was slightly off when we first arrived but we were also on edge from the last hotel and gave them the benefit of the doubt. The hallways were very dark and gave a slight creepy vibe and the elevator felt like it was going to break every time we used it. The room appeared clean and sheets were not dirty. Our first night we had no issues The second night is where we had a very uncomfortable situation occur. We had an employee come into our room at 2:30 am while we were sleeping. We had the door locked but they do not have door stoppers to keep someone from entering with a key card. We heard the card scan into the room which woke us up, the male employee had walked in turned on the light, once he heard us scream he said ohh sorry house keeping. We thought that we had overslept and he was cleaning until we looked at the clock and saw it was 2:30 am. After that we felt completely unsafe. Would not recommend to females traveling alone without a male present.

One of the very few places with Good costumer service!! 👍 The room we were located at first was really bad and humid without the air working but the kind manager solved it out and changed us to a better room . There’s a bistro across the street that’s delicious also
