I absolutely LOVED my stay at the hotel Imperial! I truly felt at home from the minute I walked in the door and was treated like family by the staff. The check-in process was smooth and they had everything ready when I walked in which was great, especially considering I booked through a third-party which can sometimes be problematic with hotels.

I was shown to my room and asked if I needed a hair dryer or any other items to make my stay more comfortable. They made sure I knew how the heating worked and that I could turn it up/down as desired. The windows were able to be opened to get some fresh air and the heater worked great. I had a fantastic supply of hot water and the shower was good.

There were plenty of towels and the room was spotlessly clean. The room and bathroom felt incredibly homey and nostalgic to me and it was clear that the hotel has been lovingly cared for over a very long period of time by people who have a lot of pride in their work. Indeed I spotted a lot of cleaning supplies as I went in and out and it was clear that cleanliness was a top priority. I've got borderline OCD and it's rare that I feel comfortable being barefoot in hotels, but this one was no problem whatsoever.

It's worth mentioning that the steps can be dicey if you have a disability, but the rooms are worth the climb and this is also standard at many places in Amsterdam. It felt so nice to crash out in the room after a long day wandering the city. The location of the hotel is superb and there are many shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, tram, etc. at your doorstep. As with any centrally located place in a large city, it was noisy but this was easily mitigated by playing white noise while I slept. I don't understand people who complain about noise whilst staying in a central area of a major city. It's just part of city life and to be honest it adds to the immersive experience for me. It's nice to sit by the window and watch/listen.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe here. The front door of the hotel had a good locking system and there were almost always staff at the desk or nearby. I really appreciated saying "hi" and "bye" to everyone as I walked up and down throughout the day/night too. Made me feel really welcome.

I would far prefer to stay here again than some generic modern colorless place or corporate hotel. It's just a superior experience and when I go back to Amsterdam I will be sure to stay here again. I'm a frequent traveler and this place won my heart pretty quickly and stood out to me in the many hotels I've stayed in through my life.

A little tricky to find initially as their was some building work being done at the front of the hotel.
After reading some reviews before our stay I was concerned the stairs would be especially steep - they were not a problem at all.
The room although basic had everything we needed .
Clean comfotable beds, shower , towels - tea making facilities and a safe .
(I would have preferred proper cups rather than paper ones.).
A hairdryer and bottled water were offered .
The reception staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is very central for all amenities and transport links.
An enjoyable stay .
Thank you.

this hotel is such a gem, the owners are very nice and available. As soon as you arrive, they offer you a luggage deposit, ask you if you need the hair dryer in your room and provide fresh bottles of water every day. the room is exactly what we needed, a comfy bed, a clean bathroom, some space for our clothes and BOTH heating and a fan!! at check out time they even gave us a small bag of stroopwaffel :))
we are very pleased, will consider again for a future stay!

A random hotel booking that was great. Room although a little dated had a good size bed and everything you need. The staff were so gracious and helpful. The location is fabulous right in heart of Rembrandt Park. About a 25 mins walk walk to Dam square or red light district.
The only downside was no elevator.. there are a lot stairs so be ready for that otherwise a great choice.

Staff was very nice and friendly. Location was perfect and rooms were decent. Breakfast was very satisfactory but do not forget to brimg your receipts for refund. Bed was very comfortable for relaxing and jacuzzi was an advantage. All in all good location with decent facilities

Very nice and comfortable room with a really good bed and I loved the pillows. We visited Amsterdam on kings day and it was noisy on the streets but it didn’t bother us. We had a good view to the streets. Our room was very clean and we will absolutely book this hotel again! The hotel has 2 cats and it was a joy to see them when we passed the reception. We really loved this hotel.

Location was great, good value for money. Room was at the back so no view but no noise either! Room was clean, except door handle came right off the first time we opened our door from inside the room. Also toilet lid kept coming off on one side. Those are little things though. After our first night we were still in bed at 915am when all of a sudden the owner opened our door, saw us and quickly closed it. No forewarning knock on door, so I made sure to put do not disturb on after that. Otherwise we had a good start and would recommend.

The Hotel Imperial is well located on the Thorbeckeplein. It is ran by Peter who is super helpful. The hotel is cozy and charming. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when in Amsterdam.
