Amadi Park Hotel in Amsterdam

Online the hotel advertises itself with 4 stars. Upon arrival, we didn't really get the feeling of they'll, though.
The hallways smell heavily of air freshener and the carpet was dirty.

The room itself was disappointing.
Here's why:
overall it was run-down and dingy. There were dents allover. In the bathroom door, the desk, the bathroom mirror, the baseboard.

The wallpapers came off the wall almost everywhere, the ceiling lamp was dirty and had dead insects inside. The curtains were dirty as well.

The room was also very dark, even with all the lights turned on.
On our last night the room felt very stuffy, even with the ac on and it smelt musty all night.

I travel a lot, and have been to my fair share of hotels, 3- and 4-star mostly. This is not what a 4-star place is supposed to be from my experience.
The price we paid was also way too high for what we got, in my opinion.

On a lighter note. The beds and laundry were clean.
The beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Also the Location is very good. It's easily reachable from both the airport and the major train stations.
The entry situation is a bit strange too. You either ring the doorbell to be let in (works only when the reception is manned) or you'd have to enter trough the lobby of the hotel next door.

If you just need a place to lay your head, this will meet your needs.
If you are looking for the "4-star luxury" they claim on their website, you'll be disappointed.

BED BUGS, COCKROACHES, DARK AND EXTREMELY DIRTY ROOMS. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

This is not a proper hotel. It appears to be a shared hotel space with several different “hotels” operating in the same building, while they only have a few rooms.

The hygiene was absolutely unacceptable. As soon as we entered the room, insects started running from under the wall and hiding under the wallpaper. There were bed bugs and cockroaches, and the entire room felt dirty, neglected, and unsafe to stay in.

I am attaching a video as proof. This was the Triple Room. You can compare the curtains, room details, and the photos from the website, and it is clear that this is the same room.

The isolation and overall condition of the room were terrible. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Avoid this place at all costs.

I stayed at Amadi Park Hotel Amsterdam and had a mixed experience overall.

On the positive side, the customer service was excellent—staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. The hotel is also in a great location, within walking distance of many key attractions, and the exterior of the building is modern and appealing.

However, there were a few disappointing aspects. The breakfast felt overpriced for what was offered. The selection was quite limited, repetitive, and not particularly satisfying, so it didn’t feel like good value for money.

The biggest issue for me was the room cleanliness. While it appeared clean at first glance, it didn’t meet a high standard upon closer inspection. During the night, I became uncomfortable and noticed issues with the bedding. After checking, the mattress itself appeared stained, which was quite unpleasant and raised concerns about overall hygiene. This significantly affected my comfort during the stay.

Overall, while the service and location are definite strengths, the cleanliness and breakfast quality need improvement to justify the cost.

BED BUGS
**Update: Upon getting home, we found a bed bug in our packed luggage on the coat I wore the whole time I was there and packed in my luggage rolled tight in a packing bag and stored in my carryon for the trip home. We did not have evidence of bites, and didn’t see any on our bed when we looked, but they were clearly there hiding in corners where we couldn’t see them (probably why they keep it so dark)**

This is the worst “hotel” I’ve ever stayed in. 24 hour access to the hotel is limited through the neighboring hotel,the lobby for this hotel is located on the 4th floor and has limited hours. I felt the staff we interacted with was cold, but neither of these details were factors in how horrible this hotel is. The issue is the rooms/building are filthy. The halls/access doors are dirty and some were starting to break. Our room was a disaster. Upon entering the room, I noticed that the toilet had fecal matter residue in it, so clearly the toilet had not been cleaned. The floor of the bathroom, door, and handles were dirty (smears, water drops, etc). The drapes had a white residue dried on it, as did the foot of the bed-it looked like a specific sort of body fluid. My pillow case had a hair on it and when I pulled back the blanket there looked to be a pubic hair. The fridge is old, dirty, and not cold. The hair dryer requires you to press “on” the entire time you use it, which wouldn’t be an issue if there wasn’t crap all over the handle (makeup? Dirt? Something else?). The lighting is terrible, you can’t get ready in this room (not that you’d want to). The 4+ star rating is a sham. Do NOT stay here, it is gross. I’ve stayed in cheap motels before when traveling through no-name towns in the states and all those places managed to be clean. A place can be old, but the level of filth here was unbelievable. The cleaning staff appeared to make our bed and change the towels, but nothing was actually cleaned and even glass wear we used remained unchanged. They offer water and a soda in the fridge, but I was so grossed out by the place I didn’t trust it. Same is true for the coffee maker- based on the state of the room I did not trust it and we didn’t touch it. Stay anywhere else. Sucks that after traveling through multiple countries in Europe staying in hotels with great amenities, we ended our trip with this one, it definitely tainted our experience in Amsterdam. ZERO stars, gross.

Hotel is not reachable by phone and even saying yes is correct has not worked for a long time. Sits mixed with residents and corridors smell strongly. Garbage bins in the parking garage are overflowing and even garbage next to it. Twice when driving out the code did not work and the phone was not answered so twice parked the car again and went all the way up again.
Rooms are extremely noisy and also the area outside and my room was not on the street side. Bad beds and tiny bathroom.
Unworthy of a 4 star hotel.
