Great location, a stay on a boat which may be quirky to some, not for me as an ex sailor, and which turned out to be outstanding.
The cabin, that’s how you call a room on a boat, was spotlessly clean and with all necessary amenities and modern conforts including strong and autonomous heating in every cabin, or AC unit for cold air.
The beds are comfortable although not particularly big as it’s a boat, so if you’re a big guy (I’m 180cm and I was perfectly fine) and in case bed size may be an issue for you you’d better contact the host first and see if bigger beds are available.
Plentiful breakfast, great location and above all amazing, friendly and accommodating staff presided by a beautiful blond girl greeting you on your check-in and every morning at breakfast.
Definitely worth it.

Boat and cabins full of character and very well equipped, a wonderful welcome from the hosts who make it homely and who cooked delicious breakfast. Free coffee and fruit and biscuits plus bar with beer tab if you want to chilllax in the evening rather than stay out late in the Dam. 15 mins walk from the Dam Square and right next to the science museum. I would highly recommend La Mar. 👍

Wonderful place to stay, so cosy, come home, have a game and hot chocolate in the lounge before a good nigh's sleep. Surprising and lovely breakfast. We had a fair discount for our stay from Sunday to Monday, so if you can manage, it's a great value. Right to the science museum, we got tickets at the counter when it was sold out online.

Staying in a boat hotel for the first time was an amazing experience and truly added a unique touch to our trip. The hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the train station and is very easy to find. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but the staff kindly allowed us to leave our luggage in the room while they finished cleaning. This gave us the freedom to explore the city without any hassle. The boat owners were incredibly friendly and polite, making us feel warmly welcomed.

As expected from a boat hotel, the room was compact but thoughtfully designed, offering just enough space for two suitcases and some storage for clothes. The room featured two comfortable single beds, a closet, a small window, heating, and a private bathroom. While the bathroom was on the smaller side, it was functional, though it did feel a bit cramped. Despite the limited space, the room was cleaned daily, which was a nice touch.

Breakfast was a highlight of the stay, freshly prepared every morning by the boat's owners. The spread included cold cuts, cereal, sweet pastries, and fruit juices—simple yet delicious, and a great way to start the day. Breakfast time was at 8:30.

Overall, staying at the boat hotel was a delightful experience that added something special to our holiday in Amsterdam. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and memorable place to stay.

Great place to stay in Amsterdam. Very central, with nice small bike rental place just around the corner. Cozy and clean rooms, very friendly and helpful host, delicious breakfast and wonderful outside space on the deck to enjoy the sun. I can highly recommend.

Perfect week on a bike-and-barge tour on the Fiep. Neele will take good care of you and keep the barge shining; on the off-season, she runs it as a B&B in Amsterdam. Garrett is an excellent chef and you will enjoy every meal.

Incredible experience, the boat is beautiful. Very easy to find. Staff were so welcoming and friendly even supplying a lovely continental breakfast in the mornings. Snacks and beverages are available on-board. The room was spacious and beds comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay thank you!

Excellent. Lovely accommodation and really well situated. Probably one of the most welcoming places I've stayed. Rick was a fantastic host and keeps the boat impeccably well.

Beautiful cabins, fabulous breakfast. Great location , close to central station and red light district. I loved it.

The host was very nice, she was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean. It is a boat so the rooms are not very large, but there is a nice lobby with good selection of wines, there is free coffe, drinks and books to read. Overal it is great !
