Our family of four stayed at the Scandic Byparken for 3 nights. The location was very good for exploring the city, and the breakfast spread was excellent.

However, we were disappointed with the in-room service. A simple oversight, like not replacing an empty tissue box during our stay over 2 consecutive days, left us feeling a bit overlooked.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the city park. It's about a 10-minute walk to the fish market area. They provide a kettle, and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious. The front desk staff are very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend!

The breakfast was amazing! They even offered Norwegian fish oil, and there was a whole platter of smoked salmon and individual avocados. The variety was great. My only minor complaint is that the room was a bit small, which seems to be a common issue with hotels in Norway.

The location is quite good, close to the station, and very convenient for getting to the airport. You can just take the FB50 bus. It's a bit pricey, but if you're willing to walk a little further, you could consider taking tram line 1, which I believe also goes to the airport. It's also quite close to the fish market, within walking distance. The room is a bit small, but European hotel rooms generally aren't very big, so it's acceptable.

Room size was disappointing. One night would have been manageable but three nights was difficult with nowhere to open the cases properly. Very poor lighting and a small window looking at a brick wall. 
No English speaking TV channels. 
The room was clean and quiet. 
Breakfast was excellent catering for a broad range of tastes. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Arrived late at night from the airport, had 5 hours sleep, showered and realised there were no towels in the room apart from a hand towel with makeup on it. Had to use a quilt cover as a towel.
Very poor housekeeping.
On the upside, the breakfast buffet was sensational for a city centre hotel

Hotels in Norway are all super small, and for the same price, you could stay in a five-star hotel back home. The location is great, not far from the train station, and the breakfast is also good.
