Nice resort but property is aging, F&B needs a full revamp

The building, with its two distinctive domes, appears isolated at a bend in the winding but well-paved road leading to Jabal. Few tourists seem to stop there, except for a few groups attracted by the low prices. The single-story building is well-maintained, with marble floors and wide corridors. The rooms all face south towards the vast plateau on the opposite side from the entrance. They offer basic comfort with rather dated furnishings. The major problem, which becomes apparent in the late winter afternoon, is the bitter cold that reigns on this side of the plateau and the hotel's poor thermal (and sound) insulation, where the reversible air conditioners run at full blast, making an incessant noise all night. The meals served in the adjoining restaurant are quite good, with the obligatory buffets, but guests in fleece or down jackets don't linger too long. It's worth noting that the establishment serves wine and beer, and the price of the buffet (3.5 OMR) is very reasonable. It has to be said that the clientele is practically captive, as no one really wants to take their 4x4 in the middle of the night to end up in another hotel's restaurant, given the limited dining options at this mountain resort. In short, it's all just average.

A descent hotel..We chose this because it was the only hotel which was available during our visit ..The staff where ok..A small restaurant with limited breakfast menu.. Lunch was expensive so we decided to go out but nothing around..a four wheel drive is must to reach this place..Don't travel during rainy days as it can be very dangerous..I was with my family and there was huge landslide and the water was flowing though the valley..it was like a flood..I was praying for the rain to stop otherwise it could have been worst if we could not move..

We stayed here for one night as part of an Oman road trip and we wished we had stayef for longer as there is masses to do in the local area in terms of sightseeing and hiking and enjoying the outdoors. The hotel reminded me of a 1970s motel - it was dated and basic but very comfortable. The price of the stay was expensive given what it is, however the place is very remote and therefore you would expect prices to be higher. The location is unbeatable and we would definitely stay there again. The food was again basic but well cooked and the staff were very friendly. We were offered an alcoholic beverage menu with our evening meal which surprised me. At breakfast there was a breakfast buffet, but eggs and toast were cooked to order. Because of the time of year we were there, it was cold, with temperatures plummeting to single digits but the rooms had air conditioner units which were also heaters. The rooms were nice and clean and the linen on the bed was lovely, but the room lacked equipment - there was no hairdryer or tea and coffee making facilities, although free mineral water was provided and there was a TV with limited channels. However we had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to recommend it.

It is a good omani middle class hotel. It is good reachable on a main road; 10 minutes away from downdown/ old town. A huge room /w balcony. Clean and a pool Breakfast Buffet, average Parking space available

We booked this hotel by ******* and they don't communicate us that it is needed to have a 4wd to reach it. Otherwise it is possible to rent there a taxi 4wd for 60 Euro!! one way!! After this, we left this hotel after the first night and they took all the 5 nights by our credit card without giving a receipt. Avoid it.

Since I cannot hand out 3,5 stars (above average), average will have to do for now. Jabal Akhdar hotel is.... well, it's a bizarre place. The hotel is comfy enough, with ok rooms, nice beds and thick blankets (it gets cold there!), but the overall feel is... India meets Arabia. The cupola in the dining room must be the weirdest thing anyone would ever dream of applying to a hotel: its fake plastic 'scenery' peeling away ever so slowly. But, the staff (all Indian) are friendly enough, the food is good and the massala chai is a welcome alternative to tea and coffee. Yes, it definitely is an eyesore, but I kind of like it!

I'm satisfied. First of all I thought they wouldn't offer anything else than like the bed, tv, that stuff but they shook me 😅 I had everything just like a 5 star one I mean the coffee, towel, shampoo and that other stuff. Ok what about the internet it must be slow right? Wrong, I can even watch 4K uhd (2160p), everything works even the boiler is clean, hot water comes in a jiffy, breakfast is fantastic not wide range but it tastes great I tried most of the stuff and I'm satisfied with all of them (except the karak it needs more tea leaves in my opinion) the coffee is good though. Bed is comfy (woke up one time with itchy eyes for some reason though), good view outside. Also, I'm not happy with the smell of the room (I think it emanates from the chair) but, it didn't bother me because I always had the window open because nice weather.
