Location is great. We wanted to thank the front desk team, we were upgraded to suite at check in for being IHG gold member and for booking through Chase Sapphire program. Room was very spacious for an international traveler with luggage. Hotel is very beautiful and has history. Special call out for having low fat options in the breakfast which was a nice touch for those who have diet restrictions. Out of the three five star hotels that we stayed at Portugal, this is the only 5 star hotel which adjusted 100 dollar credit into euros and were charging for more than 2 coffee capsules.

Our stay was fairly disappointing given the amount we paid. The room was very dark, with little ability to let in more sunlight and there was only a small table and one chair to sit in besides the bed. We paid for the breakfast buffet, but we're disappointed both mornings with cold and lukewarm food at the hot section as well as fairly mediocre coffee. The service at the hotel desk and bar were very good, but the overall experience of the breakfast and room were not at the level of a very expensive hotel.

Location, Location, Location. The InterContinental Hotel Porto is perfectly situated for exploring the city to experience Porto's cathedrals, shopping, drink, food, people, and soo much more. There is no better access to Sao Bento train station for day trips and Metro, it is literally just around the corner. A quick walk across the Douro river to experience the Porto sunset on the hill and then walk along the south bank for drinks and food. Everything at your fingertips. InterContinental Porto provided a memorable experience for our family with an exceptionally warm and welcoming staff.

Wonderful location, great property and well-appointed rooms. What really sets this hotel apart from the rest is the service. From the moment we stepped in, everyone was absolutely amazing - super helpful and attentive throughout our entire stay; always welcoming us by name. The check-in experience is what you would expect from a 5-start hotel. As an IHG Plat. Elite member, we were welcomed by name and were presented with a personal in-suite welcome gift. We arrived a few hours before check-in and they took great care of or bags / luggage while we toured nearby and kept us informed of the status of our suite. Highly recommend this hotel! We will be staying here again the next time we are in Porto!

I recently stayed at the InterContinental Porto - Palacio das Cardosas in a Junior Suite. As an IHG Platinum Ambassador, I have a specific set of expectations for this brand, and my stay provided a mix of high-quality service and areas where the experience could be refined.

The hotel’s location is highly convenient, situated centrally and providing easy access to Porto's main attractions.
The staff across the front desk, restaurant, bar, and concierge were professional and maintained a friendly demeanor throughout my stay.
The room was well-maintained with bedding that provided a high level of comfort.
The turndown service was performed consistently and met the expected standards for a five-star establishment.

The breakfast offering did not fully align with the reputation of the InterContinental brand. Notably, an English breakfast carries an additional surcharge of €13, which feels inconsistent with the premium nature of the hotel.
Only one bottle of water is provided complimentary in the room per day. Providing two bottles would be more appropriate for a double-occupancy suite.
The property does not feature a swimming pool.

Furthermore, it is important to note that the gym and spa are currently closed for renovations.

Location is good. But it is a bit different to stop the car in front of the hotel. Staffs are so nice. Valet parking is also convenient.

Hotel is centrally located near to Sao Bento station and can walk to most attractions like the clerigos and cathedral. There are also several food options available. The only downside is there’s not much amenities. The gym is pretty small and no swimming pool

Top class hotel. Helpful staff and explained everything you need to know. You will not have any issue as the staff will take care of you. No worry for the car parking. The staff did all for you.

The Terylene sandwich was excellent. While the roasted pork was juicy and succulent, the toasted bread was one of, if not the best I've ever had.

Setting is one of a kind as well.

First rate for Portuguese food. Dealt fantastically well with my many food intolerances. Meat was succulent, having been cooked very slowly, and portions were sizable. Dessert was done to perfection: not too sweet, not too heavy, and wonderfully fruity.
Top choice if you're looking for quality food and willing to savour the moment.
