Very good hotel, worth the money

Nice clean comfortable hotel rooms. Shame that they accommodate too many children. In all fairness I was there for 3 nights the first 2 very good but on the last night, they must of put all the children on my floor. These children are at an age were they simply don't have the brain capacity to think. They were banging doors making noise till around 5 in the morning thus meaning I struggled to sleep...

If you're looking for a hotel with history, stunning period decor where everything fits perfectly, this is the ideal spot. The location couldn't be better. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast offers the basics but is still good.

Everything else was great, except for the incredibly loud floor noise from the wooden floors. The creaking of the floorboards was truly extraordinary. The convenient transportation, good service, and ample breakfast were all excellent. The noise, however, was a major issue.

I had a wonderful stay at the ibis Porto Centro Mercado do Bolhão. The hotel was very clean, the service excellent, and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. We love the location, close to markets, bolhao metro 5 min, bigger train station for intercity Porto São Bento 15 min walk. We walked everywhere for foods, shopping & sightseeing. The rooms were minimalist & functional. Beds and the room temperature were comfortable. Hotel looks clean inside the room & hallways. Staffs were friendly & helpful.

Internet was breaking frequently and unreliable. Pedro from front desk was so helpful while I was parking - I was not familiar in parking on a closed lot with small spaces.

Nice little hotel with confy beds and pillows, good internet and in a nice area of the city with cafés and restaurantes. The only complain is the noise of all the other rooms; i could here the next door guests having a shower 🙄

Great location, but the rooms are a bit dated, and it gets pretty cold in the winter as the AC can't go above 21 degrees Celsius.

It was very quiet, and I had a great rest. The breakfast was plentiful, and the staff were very enthusiastic. It's not far from the airport, which is very convenient, and getting to the beach and downtown attractions is also super easy.

Central location Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The towel rack in the bathroom was lying on the floor so it was unusable. The floor in the shower was marble so it was very slippery and unsafe. There were no handrails in the shower to hold on to steady oneself on the slippery marble floor. Breakfast choices were many. Staying at Castelo Santa Catarina was a charming experience, a classic castle full of character and beautiful details. However, the breakfast was average, and the Wi-Fi signal was weak even near the reception. Also, there are many stairs, so it’s not very accessible.

The hotel was spotless, and the staff was very friendly on the day of the power outage. The room was quite spacious, except there was barely enough room to walk between the footboard and the wall. Everything else was fantastic!

In general the hotel is very good. You have to sort out the good and the bad, the good thing is its location on a main street but out of the crowd, the breakfast is very rich and varied. The bad thing is that although it was clean there was humidity in the room and when you passed it you had to breathe normally.

It was in a good location close to the city centre with lots of historical sites. The space was a very big for 5 people and there were three separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The only downside is that it's a walk up the hill and that the walls are very thin so that you can hear other people in other rooms and the elevator very loudly.

The hostess was super nice. We were able to leave our luggage with her and walk around the city. When we came back, she had brought our luggage in the room which was very nice of her. Wonderful 20 year anniversary show by Os Azeitonas. Started just a bit after 21h and finished at about 00h10!!! The venue is a little old and shows its age in spots, but the acoustics and the crowd were all great! The staff were very helpful as well.

There is little space between seats which makes it uncomfortable especially during hot nights. It could do with a refurb. Only one bar opened for the show so we couldn't get a drink. At least some vending machines would be helpful. Needs some tlc as it looks tired with cracks on walls and ceiling. Besides that the Russell Howard was great.

We took our children to see the circus here. It was a very entertaining time with quality acrobatics. The clowns were entertaining, if a little drawn out. The seats were comfortable and you can see the action from anywhere.

Great venue and acoustics. First time visiting as a foreigner who didn't understand that there weren't seating allocations for the whole theatre - but it was good as we got to choose our vantage point and move around. Logistics getting in could be better managed, however.

Porto City Hotel was in good location, far enough away from the hugely busy Douro area (circa 30 minute walk) and also adjacent to a Metro Station for ease of travel in a very hilly city. Lovely little boutique hotel infront of the Casa de Musica, 5 minutes from the metro ...only 3 stops from the historic area. We walked from the hotel to the historic area everyday and it took just 25 minutes...a very nice walk. Good size room with large wardrobe, average size bathroom with great shower and very hot water, toiletries supplied. The bed was a bit low but I had a good night's sleep. TV...

I was able to find parking easily on the street but the hotel has a parking garage (for fee). The room was comfortable and clean; breakfast was varied and delicious (fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cereal, pastries, ham, cheeses, breads and croissants). Coffee was good. We had breakfast in the courtyard which was really nice and quiet. Historic district was an easy walk away. I would stay there again...

Close to Mercado Bohlao Andrea was very nice and helpful during check in and everything. Also, the ladies at breakfast and the man that helped me get a late check out as I was not feeling my best. Room was comfortable, everything was clean and the garden is really pretty.
