Room clean and comfortable. Good location. Breakfast was basic but adequate. No dairy or gluten free alternatives.

We forgot to book a night of our stay & The Rex was kind enough to let us stay in the room. Great breakfast in the morning & friendly staff. Perfect location if you’re okay with walking a bit down to the river.

Beautiful, historical, helpful, and comfortable easy parking, lovely lobby and perfect room close restaurants and 5 min walk to metro for easy access to the city!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rex. The hotel is in a beautiful heritage building, but the facilities are modern and comfortable. The staff was helpful and welcoming. It's located in a quieter area, but a very short walk to all the action. We will stay here again.

Quiet, modernized rooms in traditional building. Limited secure car parking under the building. About 10 minutes walk to the restaurant/business district, a bit farther to the historic district. Overlooks a nice park, which unfortunately was under renovation when we visited, but should be great when it reopens. Friendly helpful staff.

The front desk service is the worst in the world! The room is very basic, the bed is very close to the door, and large suitcases can be pushed in very easily! The TV is hanging in the corner, and the room doesn't even have a small refrigerator. It's so basic! Your luggage is left in the hallway! There's no luggage storage room! Especially the front desk clerk, a tall, elderly man who's about to retire, argues with customers every day! It makes you feel unhappy! Staying in this hotel will not make your trip enjoyable! I won't stay in this hotel again!

The room smelled so strange upon entering, then we went to inspect the AC and could tell there was black mold accumulating in there. The sofa bed was not a sofa bed at all, but a rickety foldable springy mattress. It was so uncomfortable and so loud that I ultaimtely had to sleep on the day bed. Would NOT recommend staying here.

The location is very good for walking around historic parts of Porto & accessing the Hop On Hop Off bus tour.
It is a lovely old hotel with a lot of charm.
The only complaint we had was that the cleaning staff did not vacuum the rug in the room before or during our 3 night stay.
