Village Residence Hougang in Singapore

My family and I stayed at Village Residence Hougang for slightly over a month and overall, we had an enjoyable stay. The apartment was well-maintained, clean and fully air-conditioned, and the rooms were cosy with comfortable beds. The apartment also had functional amenities such as Wi-Fi, washing machine and dryer. We are also very grateful for the excellent service provided and would like to commend the following staff members: Surayah: She was our regular housekeeper during our stay. She was very friendly and highly efficient in her work. She was meticulous in cleaning the full apartment. Jonathan and Meor (from the management office): They were both very helpful and friendly when we had any enquiries. Nirani: She is in-charge of housekeeping. She was very polite, pleasant and efficient. Before we checked-out, she came to our apartment to check if we needed assistance to carry our bags and luggages down. Ah Chua (cleaner): He was very cheerful and helpful. He would always open the door for us and press the lift doors without being asked. We stayed at Village Residence Hougang for 2 months while our house was under renovation and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff were super helpful and facilities were good. The staff are always super prompt and polite when we had requests. Location was great as the mall with many shops, Watson, FairPrice, food court, eateries were just downstairs. There's also a nice sports park nearby to exercise apart from the facilities here. Thanks much to Meor, Inez and team for a wonderful stay!

Excellent location - plenty of food shops nearby but also quiet. A very relaxing atmosphere, especially by the amazing swimming pool. Rooms are very comfortable and Christa did a wonderful job of maintaining a very high standard of housekeeping. We will be back.

Pleasant stay. Will return whenever required. Village Residences by Far East Organisation @ Hougang is bound by Yio Chu Kang Road, Ang Mo Kio, Serangoon North and Hougang in the heartland. No need to travel down town for temporary accommodation. Conveniently located with buses going places, to MRT and bus interchanges. Just need to add additional time for travelling on the public transport. Next door is Far East Shopping Mall (Hougang One) housing a supermarket, food court and useful shops. However not opened 24hrs. Best to be at the supermarket before 10.30pm and before 8.30pm to grab food.

My family and I (including in-laws) stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment here for several weeks over the Easter break. The apartment was very clean, well ventilated, air conditioned in every room, spacious and had big windows which let a lot of natural light into every room. The Village apartments block is right above the Hougang 1 shopping centre which made it so convenient to pick up groceries, household items and food etc. The centre has so many great food options as well as a Kopitiam which we found ourselves visiting daily. Highly recommend the “Singapore Signature Breakfast” with coffee, half boiled egg and kaya toast if you’ve never had it before. The local area feels like a truly local leafy green Singaporean neighbourhood with lots of access to transport, parks, playgrounds for the kids and is a short walk to the local Hawker Center. The Village residence amenities including the pool, gym and sauna were clean and well maintained and the staff were very attentive. A special thank you to the housekeeper Surayah who was very meticulous and very courteous. She was especially accomodating and helpful to my mother in law’s requests, as well as my many requests for more towels, which was all very much appreciated. We will definitely be staying here again in the future when visiting Singapore. Thank you to the Far East team for making us feel like Hougang locals!

Good for family staycation. There are many shops and eateries in the vicinity.

Overall it's OK, it's OK in Singapore, but it can't be compared with China
