The room was cold and the windows were broken. There was so much ice all over the interior walls that it seemed like I was living in a refrigerator. 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬I was very angry. I was angry when I ordered a meal at the hotel and waited three hours for it to be delivered. This hotel is not cheap and yet it has such poor facilities. The hotel is normal, inexpensive, but how much they ask, they give so much. Recently renovated. Good place to stay near the train station. Downstairs there are cafes, a shop. Recommend for the unpretentious traveller. However, I did not see deluxe and standard rooms, I used an economy room. Good rate 50% of the cost for 12 hours.
This gostinitsa or guesthouse is next to the main train station in Irkutsk. It caters to tourists who need a place while traveling. The rooms are clean, but a bit old. It's a good place to flop while waiting for a train or meeting a friend. It is possible to rent a room by the day or for a few hours. If you overstay by 5 minutes, they get rather angry.
I liked everything, took a room for a day. The room has a shower, kettle, TV, fan. Window opens, bed linen. For the price, less than in the rest rooms at the station, 2400 day (for two). Be sure to come back, if need be.
I think it is ideal if you have to wait the night between the trains / train and the plane. Paid for a double room in 1200, so much would cost the waiting room at the station, but there are always no places. The rooms, as usual for Ibis, are small, but in good condition - nothing falls off, everything works, everything is fine. My room had an excellent Wi-Fi signal. Booked a room for two - 2 times. The first room was not pleasant - there was a lot of garbage under the beds. A week later we stopped in the same place, but in the next room - very comfortable, bright and clean.
If you decide to stay in the hostel you shouldn't expect too much. It is the cheapest style. Actually I wanna give 4 stars to the hostel, but I also wanna give 5 stars to the receptionist Valeria. We stayed here for 3 night during our trip to Irkutsk. It’s centrally located and great to get around. The biggest draw back and why the 4 stars is because the washroom in the room didn’t have an exhaust, which meant every-time it was used, deodorant had to be sprayed.
Such wonderful service! We were taken care off completely, and felt so very welcome. Staff speak English and Russian, whichever you're comfortable with. Breakfast is good, and we had a nice view too! Definitely recommended.
