We had a fantastic stay at Villa Chez Batista, perfectly set right by the beach. I especially loved my morning walks seeing stingrays gliding through the water every morning was truly special and unforgettable.

Our room was clean and comfortable, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always accommodating, which made the experience even better.

The beach can get busy at times, but there’s plenty of space for everyone, and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Stayed at Chez Batista Villas purely for its location on Anse Takamaka, which is genuinely one of the best beaches on the island. Unfortunately, almost everything else fell short. We booked a standard room and it was frankly poor—dark, zero soundproofing (you can hear full conversations next door), and no privacy with a shared patio lined up with other rooms. Ours was right by the car park, facing a very underwhelming “garden.” We asked to upgrade after the first night. Despite clear availability, there was no goodwill gesture—just a fairly steep price difference to move. We paid it anyway just to get out of the original room. The upgraded room did have an amazing view, but that’s where the positives end. Shortly after moving, there were power and water outages (reportedly island-wide), but our room took much longer to recover and didn’t even have emergency lighting. No apology or compensation was offered. The newer building itself feels completely out of place—overbuilt and poorly designed for such a beautiful beach. The older looking more traditional structure on the property looks far better. Food is overpriced and underwhelming—the pizza was honestly one of the worst I’ve had.

This review is regarding the beach restaurant.
We ate the most expensive and the most unsavory food on the island..
I ordered grilled octopus and it was so mushy and moist.. almost if it was from a can ..came with a big portion of rice and some sauces wich I didn’t want but apparently you cant replace.. so i ordered also fries wich were almost orange from the used oil.
The mango salad was good.
My husband had the shark .. it was ok.
Also I dont know how you can mess up the pina colada it tasted very strange.
And we also had calamari rings but they werent rings just big strands of meat 🙃.
So the most expensive meal we had on the island on our last day and it was a dissapointment.

Great location, amazing beach but people are so unfriendly! Never experienced that level in my entire life of traveling the world! No basic hospitality at all, no help, no kindness and they are so rude. It does not feel right when you end up in such a beautiful island and magic place like Anse Tamaka.

Me and my wife stayed in Chez Batistas already six (!) times and want to come back one day again. The reason is the location, the restaurant and friendliness of the staff. What people criticized in previous reviews is true. The internet is far from good and the rooms definitely require some renovation. There are many imperfections there but the place is simply magic. Make sure you stay there on Sunday when the restaurant organizes great buffet lunch with lots of delicious food and live music. Many local families come and have great time. Do not miss it.

Absolutely amazing Location & very kind perfect service with very good breakfast. Really nothing bad to mention, everything was excellent at our whole stay of 2 weeks at Chez Batista Villas! Very quiet private hotel on west coast of Mahé with excellent view of the the Takamaka Bay and Beach, savory rich breakfast only, turtle rescue, private waterfront pool and lots of beautiful nature around.

Though lenghty to reach by airport and non fortified road to the resort itself, its a warm welcoming place to calm down, bei in silence and jad dropping views.

We had the Senior Suite and are satisfied to find a bathtub, walk in shower and fridge in there. The highlight is the balcony to sun bath or massage.

Restaurant Staff friendly (Marie-Anne?).

The property is down south and is quite distant from the airport and Victoria city.

The hotel staff are very friendly and they always greet you with a smile. The food is great, and they are courteous enough to give a free basket of garlic bread with garlic sauce which tastes excellent. The rooms (garden view) are basic and are built old style. The lights are dim and due to the proximity with the garden there can be few tiny spider spotting.

The city and the island itself almost closes by sunset and so does the reception. There’s no staff available at the reception and then it becomes difficult to contact anyone. No intercoms in room.

The venue is great if you want to spend a vacation by staying in at property and enjoying the beach alongside it.

The view is nice, but why is there no dinner? Also, it is not convenient to buy water. There is no complimentary water in the room.

The villa is located in a picturesque place, right on the ocean shore. You can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Our few days of rest were unforgettable. Of the minuses, one can only name the meager continental breakfasts, but the location makes up for everything.
