Grupotel Club Menorca in Cala'n Bosch

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff - the reception were very helpful. Food variable but mostly good, sometimes very good with lots of choice. The only things preventing a 5 star rating are that you have to pay extra few a few things such as the use of the room safe, and a lot of the sun beds are broken in such a way that the top half will only lie flat. It's only a 5 minute walk to a sandy beach and the marina.

Super place to come on holiday with a baby or toddler. The hotel provided a travel cot for our room (in perfect condition) and lent us a highchair for our apartment. There was also a really nice kids' play room with toys, very useful for those times of day when you want to keep out of the sun. Beach and harbour are literally just round the corner, and if you are in search of some culture and history, then Ciutadella is a 20min ride away on a public bus that stops just across the road.
The pool and property are very tasteful and well maintained, and I'd venture that they looked even better than in the photos.
Breakfast buffet was great, loads of choice with the highlights being the doughnuts and fresh fruit.
Really nice staff, particularly the indefatigable animacion person who did poolside yoga and stretching in the morning.
All in all, a really easy, stress free holiday.

Two week stay in June, all inclusive, weather 30-34c.
Check in was busy as only one staff member on, so had to wait a while, and after a 3 hour flight delay we just wanted to relax, the process was simple enough though
The room was ground floor with a patio in a nice shaded area. We dragged a couple of loungers from the pool to use as there are only plastic garden chairs and a little table. The room was clean and cool, plenty of space, comfortable beds and sofa, could do with some washing up things like cloths, liquid and tea towels though. The cleaners come at all times of the day so if you were relaxing or getting ready to go out in the evening this could be inconvenient, once a rude cleaner tried to barge until the bathroom while my wife was in there and was muttering something and tutted when told she couldn’t go in there. The room was actually cleaned at 5:30pm the night before we checked out which was pointless given we were going to be out in the morning and it would have to have a full clean.
There are towels provided for the pool, which was warm and large with a small pool for children. There are loads of sun loungers so you could get one when you needed it, pool bar open through the day, there is also lunch time buffet there too, the same food was served every day, one issue is that it’s not covered up, so birds take advantage of the bread and also flies get in the other food.
Breakfast and evening meals are also buffet with some food freshly cooked on a grill, this can take some time though when there is a queue.
The food is on hot plates but it’s not very hot, there is a microwave so you can heat it if you want. Beer, wine and soft drinks are available.
The meat served each night was excellently cooked and varied, although the accompanying vegetables sometimes did not really go with it. There is a wide selection though so you would always find something you could eat.
The waiting staff were very quick clearing away plates and tidying the tables so you didn’t have to wait to be seated. They were also very welcoming and friendly.
On alternate nights there was entertainment on the terrace bar, some acts were great but others like the magic show were a bit flat. One singing act insisted in walking around the audience and sometimes sitting at your table whether you wanted them to or not.
There are not enough bar staff, most nights there is only one, Sara was excellent but really shouldn’t have to work all day on here own.
Drinks like beer and wine are only served in small glasses so you had to keep going up, if you had more than one they were happy to serve but the second one would be warm by the time you got to it.
The seating areas did not appear to get cleaned in the day and the tables got a very quick wipe over.
The location is great, the beach is about 5 mins walk direct from the hotel, and the beach itself is glorious.
The marina is a little further about 10-15 mins walk, lots of restaurants, bars and a few shops.
There are 3 supermarkets very close to the hotel less that 5 min walk, if you want to go further afield the bus stops very close also, €2 to get to Cuitadella which is a great old town to walk around again with a marina and restaurants. Takes about 35 mins, make sure you buy return ticket from the kiosk by bus depot, you pay cash on outward journey to the driver.
Checkout was also straight forward, although they get you to pay the hotel tax at check out rather than check in, which is unusual in our experience.
As usual there is a charge to use the room safe €15 a week with a €10 refundable deposit for the key.
We went with Jet2 which had a rep there for a short time three days a week, but if not there we would have had to call the UK customer services, which was a concern as I had to call them before we left and were on hold unanswered for over an hour, but luckily we didn’t need them.
Transfer to airport was about 1 hour but in a good air conditioned coach.

Excellent apartment hotel with beautiful surroundings, exceptionally clean, close to beach, bars and shops. Lovely service and huge breakfast selection!
