Stayed here as it was the joining hotel for our group tour. Stayed three nights in total. Check in easy. We were in a room on the fourth floor, sea view (the photo on here suggests the sea is immediately in front of you, it is in fact across the road!). Room was large and did look like this room in the picture in terms of decor. The balcony furniture was in the room - presumably because it was monsoon season? We also over looked the pool; looked nice enough but only three beds around it, there were people using it while we were there. The room was clean and functional and wifi reached the room. Towels provided. We had a modern shower room with a rainfall style shower head. Didn't really have any hot water (got a little warm when the electric went off one evening!). The roof top bar is a great area to see Negombo and the sea. Beer sensibly priced. Breakfast is served here too. Two mornings there was a buffet with an omlette station; good fruit and cake. A few croissants but you have to be quick! On our last day there seemed to be a lot fewer guests and we got a bespoke breakfast (fruit, eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, cake and a mountain of toast) brought to our table. Location was good; you are at the end of town, but the centre is an easy, flat walk- you will be offered multiple tuktuks but they don't mind if you walk. Beach across the road right in front of you. Overall a positive stay in a town that seems dominated by high end hotels; this place does what you need it to do, staff friendly.

Very very average at best. We got picked up In a timely manner and the breakfast staff were beautiful, this is the sole reason it is a 2 star and not a 1 star. The hotel was dirty, falling apart, the shower wasn’t even a shower but a hand held not even attached to the wall, in a bath tub you had to climb in, zero hot water, the sheets didn’t even cover the bed so when you rolled over it the sheets didn’t even gathered all up under your body, the kitchenette had NOTHING in it, not even a glass. Very overpriced for a very cheap quality hotel.

Was very run down and not clean. Cushions on pool lounges were moldy. Shower drain was blocked. All the lights in common areas were turned off so when you exited the elevator at night the hallways (including emergency exit lights) were completely dark. We needed our phone torch to get go our room.

This rooftop bar is such a missed opportunity for the owners. Fabulous position, lovely breeze…….but distinctly underwhelming vibe due to plain terrace. And plain cocktail which was delicious (the arrack one) but needed to look pretty! If some investment was made with loads of greenery, fairy lights, music and decorate the drinks this could be a gold mine. This could be the best bar in Negombo with a bit of work!!!

Big newish hotel north end of Negombo beach. Ground pool plus rooftop restaurant. Ocean view rooms huge and nice with great views and balconies. One negativeI is hotel is on the landward side of the main coastal road (rather than directly on beach) so fair bit of rumbling truck and bus noise if you sensitive to such things. Occasionally a nearby restaurant will have a group party celebration with typical Sri Lankan super loud music being played until late = most likely on weekendd

I came to ruvisha beach hotel as a solo traveler with my wife it was one of greatest decisions I made in my trip to srilanka the staff and the service was excellent the overview from the sky terrace at my breakfast was wonderful sennary .My room was super cleaned and very fresh food taste was delicious I stayed here 3 nights on my arrival there were lots of restaurants around where I can go for my choice and also after my tour I came back to the same place to catch my flight since it was 15 min drive to the airport I wish to recommend ruvisha beach hotel for any traveler and I will come back in next year with all my family members.Thank you very much ruvisha beach and the staff for making my srilankan experience a wonderful one. stefan from usa

An ideal airport to stop at for airport journey. A complimentary welcome drink on arrival and friendly staff. Very grateful that they let me stay in the room till 2pm on check out day for free, as I had a later flight. A great shower and comfortable bed.

Like others we stayed here as starting point of a tour with Intrepid. The hotel is old and dirty, everywhere you go there’s a different unpleasant smell. The lift is super noisy and dings at every floor, you can hear it all the way from down the corridor, and thanks to some acoustic witchcraft you hear the ding for every floor, no matter where you are. Breakfast is appalling, sad dry sliced fruit probably the same everyday as nobody dares to touch it, some pathetic and failed attempts to a bit of both continental and local delicacies, and bread toasting machine that takes 3 to 5 business day to toast one side of the bread, but that slice of toast was all in all the best thing I ate! Room was disgustingly dirty, counted 4 cockroaches that had to fight off, the floor looks like hasn’t been mopped since 1994 and all surfaces are sticky and dusty. The shower probably the worst I’ve ever seen, dirty glass doors and tiles, mouldy shower head and not a single shelf to put toiletries on. Can’t wait to leave in the morning!

First of all, Negombo. Awful, beach completely covered in rubbish, I have never seen anything like it anywhere in the world. Hotel - dingy. Staff = indifferent. Safe didn't work - staff told me it was my problem and the next day I found out 2 others had the same problem in their rooms. I was on my own (but paid full room rate) but just one thin towel. OHS issues on the balcony on the 4th floor = no rail at all in spots, all the glass missing. A parent couldn't dare leave their child for a second. Pool = awkward to access but did look nice, only 3 chairs however. We went over to the Jetwing for a drink which looked much better, although I can't see any scenario where I would go back to Negombo.

We stayed in this hotel as it was the meeting point of a tour but if it had not been I would not have stayed! The rooms were full of flacking paint and mould stains, one of our party got electrocuted and another had the ceiling fall down on the corridor to their room. Smoking is allowed in rooms so some of the room stank of smoke. The breakfast is poor at best, the lift room hit you every time you enter. On asking for the room to be cleaned they asked us for our keys as they didn’t have any other set and then couldn’t find them when we asked for them back. The staff hovered as you ate or drank making it very uncomfortable. The pool was to the front of the property and had a brick to step to the pool area and you had to duck around a tree to sit on two of the four beds available.
