Dephani Beach Hotel in Negombo

I went to this hotel with my family on last week of March. I booked two rooms on this property. After checking in when I asked the owner if I can make the payment he directly said we don't accept any type of card payment you need to pay it only on cash, I was out of cash at that time I had few dollars with me. He told me that he cannot give me two rooms, we have to manage with one room only since you have done the payment of one room, I told him I will go to the market and get you the payment he did not agree. Not only that after giving the payment when I entered in the 2nd room AC was not at all working when I told the worker he said he will inform his boss. Night when I came I asked him did he check the room yet there was no change whole night I had to spend without the AC. after taking the money from I requested many time that I need to talk to the owner but he never showed up. Rooms are very tiny. No fan. Bathrooms are uncleaned. Please check twice before you book there are many hotels better than this one. Please Avoid.

positiv: directly close to the flat Sandbeach where you can swim in the ocean (this is rare at the island because of the dangerous currents) + garden with free sunbed where you can see beautiful sunset at west direction + good kitchen with low prices also dishes for western/international taste + close to Airport and center

negative: very old bathroom ; - to short bed,it was not more than 190cm ; - very tiny rooms; - the facility looks very old and has to be renewed ; - unmotivated stuff that closes the kitchen at 9:30pm = this means that you get only closed drinks (beer,fanta,sprite) and nobody is able to make drinks like Fruitjuice (lemon, pineapple etc.) ! VERY LOUD SURROUNDING (AIRPLINE, Neighbors etc) AND LOUD TALKING STUFF @ NIGHT WITH NO BEHAVIOR // I WOULD SUGGEST THIS STAY ONLY FOR SHORT TERM WITH MAXIMUM 2 DAYS
