Maple Leaf Hotel in Negombo

Before I start this should explain that they have now changing their name to MAPLE VILLAGE instead of MAPLE LEAF.
This is because they are now getting more bad reviews as MAPLE LEAF.
The hotel name is Maple Leaf they might change it to Maple Village but it's the same hotel. 🛑 (Opposite to Jetwing Sea Hotel)
The booking was legit and ok. The foolish thing I did was I didn't do a background check of the hotel.
When we visited the hotel there was no counter or a place where we can confirm the reservation.
Then had to call them again. He said, "I'll call the hotel manager" and then came the so-called manager of the hotel, he was sleeping in a room came out topless only wearing a short.
We paid an advance fee before we came, usually when an advance is paid the hotel should prepare a room beforehand that's the main reason that they are taking an advance payment, here there was nothing we had to wait more than one hour until they find a cabana that's less dirty.
Finally, they prepared a room was dusty cobwebs everywhere AC was dusty and smelly have never turned on the AC in months. Beds were filled with bed bugs and very dirty.
Couldn't stay in the room since the rooms are smelly so came to the pool.
This was the worst pool that I have ever visited.
They have not cleaned the pool in months (parts of cockroaches, feathers of animals, dead insects, rotten leaves and everything was in the pool.) When i requested it from the room boy he said
"Sir හුළගට කොළ ඇවිත් " (Sir the leaves are maybe because of the wind)
So, I requested him to take a net to clean the pool he said there was no net in the hotel.
So, we left the place, this is by far the worst hotel that I have ever been.
Please don't visit this place.
ROOMS : Worst Room quality. (ceiling are flooded with water and all the rooms are leaking.

If you see this review never ever come to Maple Leaf Negombo. The Customer Service is 0 and the way they communicate is also 0. The windows in triple rooms and cabanas kept leaking rainy water through out the night and rooms turned into swimming pool instantly.We planned to go to the 24th Night Christmas Mass but we couldn't attend it because some of our clothes and shoes were wet due to the leakage. When we talked to the Management they were not even helpful and tried cover there issue here. Said we will bring police and escort you out immediately and asked us to not to put any google or facebook reviews regarding the situation. Please don't come to this place its a huge mess and the foods are the worst part. For the full bard package there were no varieties to select for the one's who doesn't eat meat. This place is a mess and the management too. I feel really sorry for the owners.

Dirty room, drain was not working. Bathroom is a mess and ugly. The owner was unfriendly, asked us to leave at 10am but we had booked and got a confirmation until 12am. We also had to pay 15% extra for the incompetence of getting the booking.com process straight and correct. It’s not our fault that you are not able to setup your account correctly. I would not recommend this place at all.

Rude manager, rooms poorly maintained, construction going on and making a noise, territory not closed giving people from outside easy access. Very expensive for the quality they offer. I wish to put them -1 star, but it doesn't exist. Booked it for 6 nights for my parents but had to leave next morning, manager asked me to cancel my booking from the website so I couldn't leave a bad review

It's really not a good place to stay in when I first came in and check in for the room I booked the AC unit is not working and the bed was uncomfortable at all the bathroom looks like a cave man bath all though i did complain to the manager and he told me that he will provide another room and so he did but it made worse than before the TV is broken the window on top of the bathroom was broken they cover it with towels the bathroom door looks like farm door to go in and that's not all.. I found out that this hotel is right next to a Cemetery yes sleeping next to dead people how fun is that I did the people over to fix those problems but no response.. O one last thing the net connection is bad there so good luck people

The rooms were large but not particularly clean or in good order (there was no hot water in mine over three days). It's cheap, but that's about the best thing to say about it. Would recommend other hotels or renting a room from a local.
