The most beautiful and amazing place we visited in Sri Lanka! From start to finish our stay here was just perfection. The villa was stunning and they decorated our bed on our first night. Extremely clean and attention to detail! The staff were faultless, helped you with everything, made you feel welcome just incredible. The first night we were so tired they had no problem with bringing our food to our villa. The food is top quality we had a lot of Sri Lankan food and it was so tastey and lots to eat! Nimal the hotel manager is amazing! He helped us book lots of things to do and took us. It was great having him to show us around he is so nice and full of information he truly made our stay magical. We visit elephants, cave temple, did a hike and visited local markets. And lots more! We will think about this place for a long time, it created such beautiful memories in a very special area. Be prepared to switch off and feel totally relaxed and at ease. Thank you so much to the staff 🙏🏻❤️

The hotel is a small number of individual villas, spreading away from the reception area. The higher number of your villa, the further you are from reception. You can order a car to take you to the central area for breakfast, or you can walk The meals were fine and the staff pleasant There is a pool which I would only rate as average We had a few problems with our villa - the villa was very badly lit at night, and needs extra lights. I would guess this applies to all villas - the bathroom is downstairs, the bedroom upstairs, the stairs are very creaky and there is no night light, so going to the loo at night is noisy and a little dangerous - although our villa was meant to have a lake view, the view was so curtailed, that in effect we had no lake view - we were left with the impression that we should not have wanted the villa serviced The hotel is a pleasant country retreat, but is very remote. We saw little in the way of animal or bird life. You clearly should not stay here unless you are happy with its location. I saw both the pluses and minuses, and on balance enjoyed our stay

This is one of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed at. Its setting in nature cannot be matched, and it was so relaxing. I don’t think we’ve ever had better service anywhere in the world. The standard of the accommodation is very high and provided a lot of space for us as a family of 4. The outdoor showers were lovely, and the floor to ceiling glass windows help to immerse you into the amazing jungle setting. Be warned that the setting means we did come across wildlife in the villa, but we personally loved this and feel it added to the authenticity of the experience. The food at the hotel was wonderful - definitely the best rice and curry we had during our whole trip, but all the food was delicious and our children also loved it (ages 15 and 9). Due to the small nature of the hotel I wasn’t sure if it would feel very quiet and perhaps uncomfortable at meal times, but the atmosphere was so relaxing. I think this is mostly due to the wonderful staff at the hotel. The location of the hotel is very off grid but nearby you are so well located for Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla and the cave temple, Minneriya national park, and even Polonnaruwa. We spent 3 nights here and fitted all these experiences in. We also had time to cool off in the pool one afternoon which was lovely as we had it to ourselves and again its immersed in the surrounding nature so feels very special and relaxing. We honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough if you love nature, and want exceptional service.

Warm welcome, beautiful small hotel, very nice cottage for 2 with private small pool, very friendly staff, wonderful continental breakfast. Surprise and totally unexpected, at departure we got a lunchbox for the road with very yummy sandwiches.

I was able to stay in the middle of nature and the service was excellent, but the shower in the villa I stayed in had absolutely no drainage, and water overflowed from the shower stall. Luckily, there was another bathroom, so I used that, but I don't think the problem will be fixed unless the plastering work on the shower stall floor is redone. Also, while I was taking a shower in the middle of the night, the water suddenly stopped working, so I washed the bubbles away with mineral water. I was planning to tell the front desk if it hadn't been fixed by morning, but by that morning it was working again.

Excellent, unforgettable experience. Living in a real jungle. Lots of animals around. We were out of season and stayed alone in the hotel. We received all the care of the staff and the manager.

What an amazing place, you feel so at one with nature. The accommodation is fabulous, glass walls to see outside and absolutely huge. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Just relax and enjoy the views and see the wildlife.

Everything about Wild Grass is perfect - I would not change a thing. The manager Neelam is professional and thoughtful, and Chathu, Thejani and Shaini in particular were all unbelievably charming and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Our room was just exquisite. The peace and the stunning view were incredible, with nothing but the sights and sounds of the jungle. We loved speaking to the excellent chef every day, and the food was first class - we went for Sri Lankan food and adored it all. We hated leaving and are longing to visit again. A must visit place.

We are a family of 4. This is an absolutely stunning place. We had the property all to ourselves and upgraded to a chalet with a private pool that overlooked the watering hole (The Eagles Nest). It was an amazing experience! Lots of wildlife (monkeys, monitor lizards, wild boars, crocodiles, and tons of bats). The latter, which are huge, come out at dusk and are amazing to watch. Staff are very professional, attentive, and helpful. They were incredible and made our stay memorable. Food was great, too. And they made some takeaway lunches for the road upon our departure. It was very sweet. You will not be disappointed, it’s a real experience.
