We stayed here as part of a group tour with Intrepid. Rooms were great, pool was lovely, food from the restaurant was delicious and plentiful. Tamarind Tree should be very proud of their staff who were always attentive courteous and efficient. They conjured up a lovely surprise birthday celebration for my wife complete with towel art, balloons and a cake. Thank you so much for making our stay special.

Stayed one night at this hotel. Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to help us.
Unfortunately the room was rather poorly maintained. Air-conditioning was not cool, lighting was poor. One PowerPoint was damaged.
The door locking system needs to be reconsidered. The key chain is needed for the slot for lighting. Yet it has to be removed to lock and unlock the door. There is no locking system on the inner side of the door.
The light outside the room also works on the same system. So it is dark when the door is to be locked or unlocked from the outside.
Sadly this place does not deserve a 4 star rating, in my opinion. I would definitely give it a miss next time

One of the best hotels we have visited in Sri Lanka, and it was truly a wonderful stay. Tamarind Tree is a small boutique hotel, but it is extremely calm and peaceful. The rooms are very comfortable, and the food is delicious, although the spread is limited.
What I really want to highlight is the staff. Ruchira and the entire team were exceptionally supportive and always attentive to our needs. Their hospitality made our stay even more special.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable experience in Sri Lanka.

We had a nice stay at this lovely, peaceful hotel. The staff were very friendly, the room was spacious, and the beds were quite comfortable. We also found the Wi-Fi connection to be reliable.
One thing we especially appreciated was the hotel’s commitment to reducing food waste. Since there were only a few guests during our stay, the breakfast variety was smaller than in other hotels, but we found this to be a very responsible and positive approach.
The only suggestion we have is regarding the breakfast timing: it currently starts at 7:30 AM, but it would be better for early travelers if it started at 7:00 AM.

We stayed for one night on a full board basis, and our experience at Tamarind Tree was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, always helpful and cheerful, with warm smiles throughout our stay.
Although the pool was on the smaller side, it was beautifully maintained and very enjoyable. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the food was absolutely delightful, every meal was a treat.

We booked a 30 square meter room with two beds - one children's sofa and a large double bed. We were put in a much smaller room and when I went to the reception to ask why, I was told that this was the room I had booked. However, the photo showed a completely different one. Fortunately, the manager quickly resolved this issue and we were moved to a larger room. We liked the hotel. A nice, clean pool was more than welcome. Dinner was pretty good, but the breakfast was meager. The hotel seemed very beautiful to us, a good choice for a family stay 👍

The hotel is a bit far away from Yala National Park, but in comparison, the price/performance ratio is quite high, with complete facilities and warm service. You can pack breakfast and go to Yala National Park.
