Scandic Visby in Visby

The property is well located, but the rooms are very institutional looking, sinks are extremely small. It doesn’t have a hotel feel.

A pleasant hotel located right in front of the harbor, perfect for those traveling with Destination Gotland, The hotel is split up into several buildings, the reception and restaurant are located at the entrance to the hotel, there is also an additional eating area for breakfast guests located at the other end of the property. In all there are around 8 buildings, one of the buildings has a relax with sauna and outdoor jacuzzi and outdoor swimming pool. A small children's playground located outside the main restaurant.
We had adjoining rooms with 2 single beds in each. Comfortable beds with extra pillows. Unfortunately the bathroom was very small and compact, a material shower curtain, the floor did flood with every shower but was easy to dry up with it being so small. Our rooms were 524 & 526, I do believe from reading other reviews that some of the showers have glass doors. The rooms were clean and these rooms were located right by the elevator and stairs.
Breakfast was good with plenty of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Evening meals were very nice if you don't wish to eat out.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and I do believe they even offered parking with electric chargers.
A short walk into Visby town center and the most famous wall.

New hotel very near the harbor and ferry terminals. By normal standard this is a 3-star hotel.

Consists of several smaller 3-floor structures, fitting nicely into the area. However, the outlook is the boring terminals, leaving just glimpses of the sea and sunsets.

Depending on your plans, the location may be brilliant, or it may be a few steps too far from Visby downtown.

Rooms are modern and stylish, but also small. Bathrooms are very small. No AC (air conditioning). Some rooms are below ground, without windows, which makes ventilation even worse.

Rooms have refridgerator, as well as TV with about a dozen channels. Wardrobes are few and small.

Breakfast included; great by international standard. Varied assortment of whatever you need, incl tea. Swedish coffee but no espresso and its cousins.

WiFi is included and the hotel says it works everywhere. This was incorrect 2014, at many places within the premises the connection barely worked. 2015 it seems better but I haven't tested too much. Some rooms suffer from very bad mobile data connection.

Charming and kind staff, in fact, it is awesome. The reception is open 24/7 and has a limited bar and sandwiches. Very limited. Free Swedish afternoon papers.

One quite small outdoor pool and bubble pool, a sauna, and a gym.

Plenty of car parking lots.

In summary: for one night's stay near the ferries, this is a good and priceworthy choice; for longer stays, consider your expectancies. You will not be very disappointed but maybe not overly pleased either.
