Mountain Chalet With Garden & Parking in Grindelwald in Grindelwald

The Grindelwald visitor's card was a huge help here. Location wasn't as good as due to the bus that stops running at 6pm.

The view was amazing.
Nice spacious shower.

Room was a little warm and if windows are open there will be bugs flying in if lights are on.

Great service coming in, was able to check in early which I was pleased with. Check out was very smooth and fast. Stayed in a mixed dorm for two nights. Wouldn’t normally choose this but was a last resort. Just the typical hostel cons of loud snorers and those who have no social awareness slamming doors and turning on the lights late at night but this is no fault of the property just the demographic of guests that stay here for a cheap(er) night.

All day Free tea and coffee facilities which a lot of different teas to choose from! As well as access to a communal fridge, kettle and microwave. This was enjoyed alongside a big outdoor terrace area separate to the restaurant. Breakfast every morning from 7:15 which was nice given the usual 8am start from the other places I’ve been. Basic but good selection, accompanied by freshly made coffee!
WiFi speed was amazing and was able to stream and email as I would on a home private internet unlike other hotel internets I’ve had on this trip so far.

Shared Toilets and showers were spacious and very clean.

Only two plug sockets for entire room of 8 people but some available in the shared spaces, this could be improved by an extension cord or something maybe? So that everyone has one as we were all fighting over them. Open cubbys in dorm for luggage with no option of locking it up when out but didn’t feel unsafe leaving it during the day. Rooms seemed okay temperature during the day but insufferably hot at night even with windows open - but I think I came during a heat wave so I was told?

You get a bus pass on arrival for free travel between the hotel and the centre but the bus driver barely checks if you happen to forget it. The bus is every 30 mins but last one back up is unfortunately around 6:30pm which changed my plans a little for full day hikes and not wanting to walk the 1hr+ uphill from the train/bus station.

We stopped here to have dinner at the restaurant. I recommend trying this delicious fondue. We were also served by a very friendly and polite waitress from the Czech Republic (unfortunately, I don’t remember her name). She left pleasant memories of this place.

We did not stay at the hotel but we ate at the restaurant Last night and the food was fantastic. Presentation was excellent. The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and our server, Amalia, Was cheerful friendly and very attentive. We felt very well taken care of she's a lot of fun.Highly recommend this location for a traditional swiss meal.

Take away Cordon Bleu was awesome! Friendly, timely and efficient personnel.

Best for snow experience

Nice trail to walk with beautiful scenery. Dog and family friendly. Also, another highlight to see in Grindelwald.
