I don't recommend staying in Wengen. It gets dark very early, there's not much to do nearby, and it's inconvenient to get around. Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken at the foot of the mountain are much better. This hotel is quite new, the hygiene is acceptable, the breakfast is average, and the toilet is very small.

The Brown Bear Hotel is located not in Interlaken, but in Wengen, a charming village with a cosmopolitan atmosphere. If driving, you can only park in the parking lot below Lauterbrunnen train station. Go up to the 7th floor to buy your ticket and take the train to Wengen, which takes about 12 minutes. A fantastic yoga and spa hotel! This is my third time here, and it's truly worth it. After hiking or trekking, be sure to soak in the pool or swim to completely relax! They offer a shuttle service from the train station, as it's quite a distance from the station and inconvenient with luggage. However, if you contact the hotel in advance, they can arrange pick-up and drop-off.

We had a really nice stay in this wonderful hotel. The room was modern and clean and all the facilities are perfect. We went skiing directly from the hotel entry, and later a little skilift brings you back to the hotel. The staff is helpful and allways there when you need them. Breakfast is top and well-served

Great mountain views! It only took us about 90 minutes to get to Jungfraujoch the next morning. The welcome drink was lovely, and the staff were all very warm and helpful. Breakfast was delicious too – especially the omelets and fried eggs with various fillings like chicken and bacon, they were all excellent.

It was super close to railroad tracks but never heard a sound. The walk to/from train station is steep, partially gravel and you have to lift your suitcase over the greased cog tracks as you cross. There is a nice hike to Staubbach Falls but the falls were not very large due to it being fall. Workers were nice. Evidently there was a free breakfast but they didn’t share that until we were checking out...

Although the hotel is located on a slight steep uphill, they are more than happy to provide free taxi service from the train station. But otherwise, great location, great views. Comfortable stay in clean room.

It seems the moment the restaurant staff figure out you are visiting USA they start demanding tips. Tipping is not customary and the Locals eating out detest Americans who are trying to tip. Please do not tip . The locals dining in hotels hate Americans who tip and who are trying to change the culture

Great stay in Wengen. A little far from the station (10 min walk), but it's not hard. The room is comfy with a large bed, separate bathroom and toilet en suite. Really nice breakfast spread served in a great setting. For late check in they left the key card at reception and everything worked seamlessly.

Staff was very welcoming, great location, lots of little amenities that you wouldn’t consider, like the fridge in lobby for guest use (most hotels here don’t have mini bar fridge in room), sauna, and fixed cost for guests at competitive price for the restaurant. Rooms are comfortable, homey, and clean. We only stayed one night, and didn’t get to fully enjoy it all, but would certainly rebook here!

The staff here is incredible accommodating. Super friendly and very willing to help. They spent 5-10 minutes going over all the hiking opportunities in the area, etc. with me (and with all new others who checked in). The single room is a little tight, but that's expected in Europe. I stayed 3 days at Hotel Bellevue in Wengen and really enjoyed my time. I booked through Airbnb and chose their smallest room since I was traveling solo, which worked perfectly for me. Wengen is a great launch pad to go up to Männlichen, and the train ride down to Lauterbrunnen is scenic and costs about $15 round trip if you don’t have a Swiss Pass.
