I stayed here with my husband and 2 kids (9 and 5). We absolutely loved our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet and pizza restaurant were fantastic. The rooms were spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Our kids loved playing games in the red library room while we had a coffee or drink. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We stayed here with children and grandparents and had 3 renovated rooms in total. The staff was very friendly during our whole stay. The highlight was the 4 course dinner meal.

Expensive but low quality. No parking on site, inconvenient walk to public parking. Poor room design: leaking shower, awkward sink drain, minimal amenities (no safe, no fridge), tiny shower with low ceiling. Would not recommend for solo travelers due to overall comfort and value. There are many far better options in the area Choose those unless everything else is fully booked.

I've been coming to Pontresina for 20 years. On hikes, I get to chat with visitors to the Upper Engadine and exchange ideas about their accommodations. The Engadinerhof has been described and recommended to me several times as a very friendly hotel with a personal touch. Guests have been returning to the Engadinerhof for decades. That sounded good to me; I wanted to experience it. Change of ownership in 2025. My booking: end of June 2025 for 10 days B&B in a Comfort Normal single room: a quiet room, not very noisy; however, the carpet was clearly showing signs of wear and tear and was extremely unpleasant to walk on in socks or barefoot. The bathtub had a plastic shower curtain that wrapped around your body during a warm shower. The bed was very narrow at 80 cm wide; I repeatedly pulled the covers back from the floor. From other hotels, I've experienced being able to choose a table for each meal, or being assigned a table for the entire stay, which I could change later by arrangement if necessary. At the Engadinerhof, new guests were offered a free choice of table during the welcome drink on the day of arrival. I was then assigned a table in the dining room and marked with my room number. After sitting there for a week, on the second-to-last day, I was confronted with the fact that this table had been given to other guests. I was arbitrarily moved, without speaking to me, without informing me, or asking me, without consideration of my contacts, just a: "You sit up front!" In that moment, I felt like an old, unwanted piece of furniture that had simply been pushed aside. I was deeply shocked by this treatment of me as a guest and, yes, personally, very hurt. I reacted accordingly emotionally and refused to be moved to another table. In short: The hotel management's explanation was that they wanted to make their guests happy, in this case the newcomers who had arrived as a couple. I was obviously not one of the privileged/preferential guests. The fact that the service employee didn't say anything to me was explained by a language barrier. I speak German, English, French, and understand Italian and a little Swiss German. That should be sufficient in Switzerland. I offered to leave a day early without paying for the last day - the hotel management insisted on payment for the entire reservation. Then I was offered the opportunity to choose another table - only all comparable wall tables were already occupied. At the end of the conversation, the owner gave me a choice: either apologize to the service employee (who felt insulted because I reacted emotionally), or exercise his right to refuse entry, and I had to leave, naturally paying the full amount.

Disabled guests are not welcome. I requested a walk-in shower in advance because I have a disabled foot. They gave me a small room with a shower that was 40 cm from the floor. Without my husband, I wouldn't have been able to get in or out. I later saw in the pictures that they had one. What a shame. I won't stay there again. The pizzeria only serves pizza until 2 p.m., after which it's just toast. The salad buffet is very good, and the breakfast is also very extensive. Reception is only accessible via four steps, but there is a great accessible toilet with a lovely faucet.

Back at the Engadiner Hof after a long time. The hotel has been in existence since 1905, and at the end of 2024, the Esche family became only the third family to run it. Empathetic hosts and a motivated team with service staff from many countries (including Brazil, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Croatia, etc.) were ours. We had a comfort room on the first floor and felt very comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner, as part of the half-board package, were completely satisfactory. The head chef also worked under the previous owner and knows his craft (complementi!). The hotel exudes the charm of bygone eras, with a beautiful lobby and a small bar with a balanced menu. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the valley station of Alp Languard, Pontresina's local mountain. A big plus: in summer, the ticket for the train, bus, and cable cars is included. Parking is also available for a fee. Conclusion: We look forward to our next stay at the Engadiner Hof and would be happy to return.

We stayed for four nights and had a beautifully renovated room. It was rather small, but charming (vaulted ceiling, custom-fitted wooden wardrobe). The old style has been retained in the hallways, bar, and dining room. I particularly liked the bar. Friendly staff at reception, good bartender (Igor). Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of breads and jams, cheese, meat, fish, yogurt, muesli, and some hot dishes. The only downside is the setting and the staff at breakfast. For guests with half board, a table is reserved with their room number. For guests with "breakfast only," there were no tables available: they were either not cleared or already set for dinner. Every day we had to ask for a table to be prepared for us, which was done rather reluctantly. A real shame for an otherwise very attractive hotel!

Stayed at Hotel Engadinerhof in Pontresina for two nights during a railway trip and had a wonderful experience. The hotel has a fantastic atmosphere, especially in the bar in the evenings—a great place to unwind after a day out. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We also had a great evening meal in the attached pizzeria, which was delicious. A welcoming hotel with great food, a friendly atmosphere, and excellent service—I would definitely stay again!

Our stay at this charming, family-run hotel was unforgettable! From the warm welcome to the cozy atmosphere, everything felt just right. The staff’s hospitality made us feel at home, and the beautifully decorated spaces provided the perfect retreat after fun-filled days outdoors. Traveling with my son, we loved exploring the breathtaking winter landscapes, skiing, and sledding. Mornings started with a delicious breakfast, and evenings in the cozy lobby were bliss. This hotel is a true gem in Pontresina—warm, welcoming, and perfect for a magical winter escape. We can’t wait to return! ❄️✨
