Two star review for a three star hotel

Well-located and relatively tidy establishment only a few minutes from the train station via an elevator taking you up the hill. Rooms are spacious but no more than hostel standard, different from what you may expect from the impressive facade.

On the day of our arrival, there was a fire in the relax area, and a sign was displayed at the reception saying it was out of order. We had been looking forward to enjoy the comfort of a warm sauna after long days of skiing, so this was mildly disappointing, however accidents happen. At checkout, we asked for a small discount on our bill to reflect that the facilities were not available. After repeated requests, and first being told that only the other assistant front desk manager would be able to address our request much later in the day, the general manager was called in. Claiming an alternative had been available at a different hotel, he refused to give a discount, even after reprimanding the front desk worker for the sign that failed to indicate any alternatives, which had been up for our entire six night stay.

Two other slight inconveniences during our stay was that the elevator was out of order on New Years Eve, forcing us to hike up and down the hill several times. Further, when a member of our party had food poisoning and asked for a piece of fruit at the reception, not being able to stomach the candy bars and chips available as snacks, he was shown on a map how to make his way to the nearest supermarket to buy it himself. How is a large hotel with capacity for 100+ people in their dining facilities not able to produce a single piece of fruit for an ill guest?

The rooms are awesome especially the breathtaking view you have from the balcony...but beware of your wallets never leave them in the room when you are away..I lost about 1000 euros in my stay at the terrace hotel
