The gentleman at the reception as well as the lady at breakfast were so friendly. It was a really special place, with Bauhaus architecture and an interesting history.
Even if it took me a lot of effort to hike up to the hotel from the lake, it was totally worth it!

Tainted by disappointing service
Unfortunately, this special place appears to be losing its soul. Compared with our last stay, the breakfast was very basic and the service only half-hearted. Worst of all, upon check-out the receptionist deliberately and pejoratively called me "Natasha", which felt as treating me with contempt as a guest. This was very embarassing and unprofessional, and discourages me from visiting this hotel ever again.

Excellent stay, we may come back
Very nice location. You feel like in a little resort. The rooms looks like an hospital room. Only white with convenience bed. But everything was clean. We have an amazing view on the lake from the balcony.

Location, rooms, and views were all amazing. We checked in after a long day of hiking, and couldn't believe the view of the lake and town from the Villa house. Breakfast the next day was good, with the standard things like muesli, pastries, ham and cheese, eggs you can boil yourself, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice, etc. and afterward you can lounge in some of the classic Lido Loungers on the lawn or go to the tea shop for a great degustation and conversations with the staff that will teach you a LOT about tea :) Overall we had a great experience here and would definitely recommend it!

It was a great experience! Loved the room, balcony and view, the gardens and hiking paths just outside. Breakfast was very good, lots of options and really loved the fresh fruit salad!
Staff were the best! cannot recommend enough. I stayed with my dog, felt very welcome and I will come back :) Such a good atmosphere.

The views are as if from a postcard. My room was modern, comfortable and squeaky clean.

Beautiful view of the lake, architecture and art forward hotel.
Liked · The room was rather spaciaous, which was very nice. We could close the blinds during the night, so the morning sun was not sweeping in. We bathroom had a bathtub, a total plus. Beds, very confortable. Breakfast was varied and good. There is a tea house in the back, which offers very high quality tea, and you can sit outside and enjoy the view. You can play Tennis if you wish to. There is a museum (we didn't go, so can't say much about it). There is a small house next to the restaurant, where a film telling the history of the hotel is shown. Wear mosquito spray in there!! I'm personally not that interested in architecture and art, but for anyone that is into the Bauhaus movement, you will be very happy here. They have kept everything, and it is all in great shape.
The view is great too. You just need a car to get up there, or be OK with walking up and down the hill.
Disliked · There is no public transport that takes you up to the hotel, or even near it. The hotel is on top of a hill, so you have to be OK with walking up and down (there is a set of stairs that take you right to town).

Very nice staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. It's about 10min walk down to the lake, beautiful terrace for breakfast with a great view to the lake and the surrounding mountains.
