Very nice and quiet small hotel close to the lakeside, clean and comfortable rooms and friendly multilingual staff. Cherry on the cake was the availability of bicycles free of charge to the hotel guests! I would definitely recommend this place in Ascona.

The hotel offers beautiful views of Ascona, the lake and the mountains. It has a heated swimming pool and a beautiful garden. The rooms were very clean and welcoming. The staff was nice and client oriented, really making you feel comfortable. We truly enjoyed the experience and definitely will go back.

This was a superb and very comfortable hotel. We were upgraded to a family room with balcony and lake views although the extra space included a room with bunk beds which we did not need. We booked 3 nights at this hotel and I was a bit apprehensive having read previous reviews but what a wonderful, positive surprise. We were picked up at the train station by the hotel courtesy service. Greeted by the reception staff and offered a welcome Prosecco or soft drink and snack. What a wonderful Hotel!! I enjoyed so much the time there. The beautiful location directly at the Sea, the wonderful people and the nice team of Hotel Tamaro. I am missing it already. Was in Locarno-Ascona region last month for two nights with my wife. Tamaro is excellently located in the heart of the old town, just by the Lago Maggiore along with the promenade and plenty of restaurants nearby. The ferry service stop is less than a minute from the hotel, the nearby bus stop is also few minutes walk, the Ascona Lido(beach) and the parks are also close by. Rooms are too good, wide...

Wow. Wonderful owners and staff. And great breakfast! Stayed during the JazzAscona festival. I stayed in their Villa Olivano house just up from the hotel which was quiet and very clean with a nice pool.

we booked the boutique hotel because we were visiting Moon and Stars in Ascona. A great tip for one night. Disadvantage, despite cleanliness, location, etc. no storage space, similar to Motel One in all places in Europe. You can't stay there for weeks. But we had a great time.

The gentleman at the reception as well as the lady at breakfast were so friendly. It was a really special place, with Bauhaus architecture and an interesting history. Even if it took me a lot of effort to hike up to the hotel from the lake, it was totally worth it!

It was a great experience! Loved the room, balcony and view, the gardens and hiking paths just outside. Breakfast was very good, lots of options and really loved the fresh fruit salad! For the price you pay it really is not worth the money - the standards of the rooms are not sufficient compared to what you get elsewhere. We were part of a big group so had to stay at the hotel and there were not other luxury options really in that area so there was not much choice - but if they want to charge these prices, they do need to upgrade the rooms a bit and provide better amenities. Normally I have stayed directly On-The-Go promenade but spontaneous try-super! More quiet and near to everything for those who can walk 5 minutes. We didn’t need parking but we’re pleased to know places are available. Will come back. Next time will possibly try the restaurant-we are so soiled by the choices and didn’t give I t a go this time though. Thanks

Very clean and the location was perfect. Room was quiet and isolated and the air conditioning worked perfect.

Clean and friendly, Hotel Polo is only a 5 minute walk to the waterfront promenade. A Coop grocery store is even closer. Extra bonus - mini-fridge contents are complementary! The front staff speak English and are very helpful, too.
