What a wonderful Hotel!! I enjoyed so much the time there. The beautiful location directly at the Sea, the wonderful people and the nice team of Hotel Tamaro. I am missing it already. It must great for New Years, seeing the lights over the lake. Very comfortable rooms, I was very happy, highly recommended. Merry Christmas and thank you again !!!

Was in Locarno-Ascona region last month for two nights with my wife. Tamaro is excellently located in the heart of the old town, just by the Lago Maggiore along with the promenade and plenty of restaurants nearby. The ferry service stop is less than a minute from the hotel, the nearby bus stop is also few minutes walk, the Ascona Lido(beach) and the parks are also close by.
Rooms are too good, wide, spacious, with bit ethnic traditional flavor along with the excellent view of the lake and mountains.

Amazing hotel right by the water and all the little restaurants, food is amazing, staff very friendly, rooms beautiful, fantastic for single, couples and families.

The room is nice and clean, location is great, but the breakfast quality and service were terrible. The buffet was quite poor and you have to literally chase the staff to get anything. I ordered fried eggs, which was the only option available, and they came very raw. I complained and they brought e burnt eggs. Worse restaurant experince I ever had.

We were charged more than CHF 325 per night (during the locarno film festival) for a room with dirty glasses in the bathroom, were waiting for the staff at breakfast for way too long. Some of the staff were very friendly, very mixed feelings though.

Wow. Wonderful owners and staff. And great breakfast! Stayed during the JazzAscona festival. I stayed in their Villa Olivano house just up from the hotel which was quiet and very clean with a nice pool.
