Beautiful hotel. Room had lake view. Very good service. Good internet speed. Warm in the room. Beds have electric blankets as well but we did not use them - it was warm enough.
Kettle, cups and complimentary tea and sugar.
One observation though - beds were great but the pillows too soft.

We loved our stay at Hotel Splendid. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a view over the lake and mountains. The room was clean, tidy and well furnished, with a balcony we could sit out on too. Breakfast was simple but delicious. The croissants are very good, as are the scrambled eggs. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

It’s an old hotel that they renovated. They removed the walls from the bathroom. It’s absurd. There’s plenty of space in the room. The shower and sink had colorful lights. It was creepy. Really terrible for sharing but I didn’t like it alone. It’s pure greed to discourage sharing and to save on walls. It’s ridiculous that more aren’t complaining about this. The location is good but info on the elevator in advance would have been useful.

We are so happy with our stay at Hotel Splendid! We came for the Christmas market which ended up being right across the street! The hotel is lovely and the owners were very friendly. They gave us a free upgrade so we had a view of the lake and market. The room was very clean and quiet and even had a balcony. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great sleep. The owner asked if we wanted scrambled eggs for breakfast which he made himself with cream and cheese and also had fruit and meat, fresh breads, yogurt, etc. Being from Canada I was thrilled to see peanut butter as an option besides lots of jams. Overall we highly recommend this hotel and feel it was well worth the cost of the room which was reasonable. It is also right by the train station and local buses.

The worst experienced of my solo travelling. I travel around the world and in this hotel my LV purse where my passport, ID card and debit cards got stolen. The only time I left it out of my sight was when I had breakfast when I came back to take my bags to check out didn't check again that everything will be there in my hand carry. Only realised my purse with passport and cards when I arrived in Zurich. Luckily I always have my phone in my hand. So travellers just be extra vigilant when you stay in this hotel,

Location, location, location. Superb view from the balcony. Helpful and attentive David the manager more than made up for the somewhat shabby interior. Perfect for the Jazz festival.

Had a great stay at the Splendid. David was very helpful with advice for local sights. We also enjoyed his daily morning scrambled eggs. Close to everything. Would stay again.

I completely disagree with the previous review by "RM". This is a lovely family-run 3* hotel in a delightful turn of the century building. Its age is part of its charm. Yes, you could spend a fortune turning it into a plastic version of its former self, but what's the point? I've just completed another stay here. My balcony room had a high ceiling and a great view of the lake and the lake steamer terminal. Great shower and a really comfortable bed that gave me a good night's sleep. And then a really good breakfast in the morning! Great friendly service from David and his brother, and all at a sensible price... There's a great ground floor bar with bar food like burgers, and in season a good restaurant on the first floor. The trolley buses run along the road in front of the hotel, giving easy access to everywhere in Montreux. The lift up to the station is just 50m away! Its painless. You can easily pay 3x the price for an alternative hotel close to the station. If you want 24/7 service then stay in a 5* hotel, and stop complaining please!
