Hôtel de la Rouvenaz in Montreux

We were so looking forward to dining at this restaurant. It came highly recommended by a local friend. Unfortunately, this has been one of our worst dining experience in Switzerland.

We were a party of four with a simple order: a starter to share, then mains for everyone. Two of us got their main dish after a reasonable amount of time.

We then had to wait over an hour to get the two other dishes (a pizza and pasta).

We asked our waitress several times what was going on but received no explanation or apologies. After our friends were done with their meal, the missing dishes were finally served, but of course, the dinner was ruined.

I must add that the food itself wasn't remarkable in any way (pasta was heavy, pizza was bland) and felt way overpriced. No bread basket was ever offered, our water was never refilled...

We asked for the check and our waitress ended up apologising, explaining that our order had been forgotten. Unfortunately, we never saw her manager. At the waitress' initiative, a juice and a starter were written off our tab, but as they say, "too little too late".
