Unique Stone Town (read old, quaint) vibes, very simple without all sorts of bells and whistles. Close to the sea and great food in the market at night.

Located in Stonetown and walking distance from the ferry. Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was disappointing. The photos posted online are very misleading and do not accurately reflect the current condition of the property. What appeared modern and comfortable in pictures turned out to be quite different in reality. There were virtually no amenities available, and the air conditioning was not functioning properly, which made the room hot and uncomfortable. The internet reception was also very poor and unreliable. Additionally, there were far too many stairs to reach the room, which could be difficult for guests with luggage or mobility concerns. The bathroom felt old and dingy, and overall the property seemed in need of maintenance and updating. On the positive side, the hotel is within walking distance of the ferry, which is convenient, and you can get a cheaper rate if you book directly with the property.

The staff was very kind, always helpful. Breakfast is delicious, the hotel is beautiful. We had AC and ventilators, mosquito nets over the beds. The location is great.

Located on a quiet street in Stone Town close to the Old Fort and Forodhani Gardens, Kiponda is a quiet and comfortable place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooftop breakfast area is a cool and pleasant place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea

A nice bed and breakfast hotel with a great location in Stone Town. A simpler standard is offset by a lower price. Very helpful and skilled staff who help with most things and helpfully answer all questions. A good breakfast was served on the roof with coffee, omelette and good fresh fruit. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic experience at Kiponda. The service was perfect. The hotel responded promptly to my requests about bicycle and luggage storage space. We stored our bicycles there and they were kind and always helpful. Although the room was slightly small, we could spend time in the breezy, comfortable dining and lounging rooftop terrace. The breakfast had a great variety of fruits, yogurt, cereal, eggs, bread, ground coffee with french press and tea. I highly recommend Kiponda as a budget hotel with friendly service and style!

Kiponda is an excellent choice for accommodation in Stone Town! The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to assist with anything you need. They even accompanied me to purchase a bus ticket and the famous Zanzibar football jersey! The breakfast served is delicious, especially paired with their excellent coffee. The building itself exudes a charming atmosphere. It's the perfect base for exploring Stone Town. Highly recommended!

Super nice located hotel in Stone Town. Very friendly staff and amazing breakfast. We highly recommend this place for a stay in stown town. The port is also only 2mins walk away. Nice rooftop terassse for breakfast. We had a room with a ventilator and one night with a/c.
