Love Station Hostel in Baan Tai

Booked to stay 3 nights, left after 1. Run down hostel that is in need of a renovation. Washrooms are outside and inconvenient to use. Woke up with an earth worm on my pillow which is likely because the room is near a forest. Bare minimum amenities in the common area.

Staff wasn't able to provide any useful information to do into the area and seem to just hang out on the couch giving off a cold unfriendly vibe. Front desk is open at 10am so if you are waking up early to sight see and don't return until late at night, don't expect any help from the staff. Hostel is in the middle of no where with limited food and shop options.

Do yourself a favour and spend $30 more a night to stay at a nice hotel in a better area.

Reviewing the restaurant

Went attracted by the offer of half price for Indian food.
After the dinner I experienced a sick and painful night - don't go here!
The discount for the food was only for three dish (only one vegetarian). After a quite long waiting, the expectations were high, even after reading all the good reviews.
The food was absolutely nothing special, no passion or loving when cooked, and nothing to do with Indian food/and fresh food. We order one Indian dish (120-150 bath) and one Thai dish (70bath) and some naan (50). The naan was just something like a tortilla wraps warmed up from the package, both the dishes were made with frozen ingredients nothing fresh.

Huge dissapointment. Staff is only helpful if you buy their services, if you want to look for the better price - you are on your own. They couldnt tell how to travel in cheapest way through island without motorbike, they didnt knew whether there is a public transport, they didint knew where are the parties for free, well they were not helpfull at all. Im a backpacker with really limited budget. It seemed that whole island including this hotel dont like the budget turist. They even charge the towels one for 20bht. I didnt ate the food at their restaurant, because for me it was too expensive. The hostel room cost me the most in my whole trip in Thailand and I got the worst service and room in comparison - inadequate quality and price rate. One morning I asked the hot water since I have the cup and my own coffee, but the manager told me that kitchen could not be used by the clients. I asked maybe she could help and just fillin the cup with the hot water, but the response was the same. Also, in the rules it was written, that you cannot have alkohol drinks in the hostel property unless you buy from the bar, which is costly. And there was no party wibe, as you could expect from the hostel in such island. Annnnd, there are many lizards, even in the rooms and cockroaches in toilets. I found one in my room aswell. So i definately do not recommend, if you want to find very comfortable place, cheap prices, really friendly staff, party wibe, this hostel is not the one.
