Reviews
The fan is enough at night.
Price is decent for 300 b a night in high season.
I didn't get the bad reviews because the lady at the desk is really nice and welcoming!
And yeah, the shower is cold! Welcome to Thailand!
I got a bottom bunk in a shared room with 3
others that were all considerate travelers. The wifi is good. They have a purified water tap with hot and cold.
The shower is cool but was great with the warm days and evenings.
The rooms were equipped with fans that circulated well and even got a little chilly at night.
I was glad I travel with a small blanket as my last evening it got a bit chilly and the supplied blanket is more like a big towel. The 1st 2 nights I didn't need a blanket.
Everything you want or need is in walking distance (restaurants, beach, scooter rental, pharmacy, convenience store) .
I did a full day snorkel trip with the same company. It was great value for what I paid. The provided lunch was top notch with Thai food, fruit, soda, coffee, and water.
AVA was a sure highlight, she helped answer the few questions I had but she also coordinated mine and others trips off the island and to our destinations + any trips on the island.
I 100% recommend this place to the budget traveller or budget couples ok with sleeping/sharing a small bunk or booking your own bunk and sleeping separately.
The nights are cold. I was given a thin blanket, which was only about 3x3 feet in size, so you can't actually call it a blanket. I was the only guest in the room, so I picked one blanket off another bed during the middle of night because there was no one from the staff at that time to whom I could ask for help. The next morning, the same lady at reception came to check the room, and became really hostile that because I had taken the other blanket. I explained to her that the blankets are really small and I felt cold. She seemed to be on the verge of having a major emotional breakdown.
I would have definitely checked out of the hostel right there and then, but sadly there were no other places available for booking. During my third day, she actually asked one of the guests who had just checked in my room to make her own bed.
Thankfully, another lady from the staff took over on the day I was checking out. She seemed very hospitable and friendly.
The hostel has okayish services and facilities for the price you pay. Poor services can be compensated by friendly attitude from the staff, which in this case was extremely rude. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a good vacation.
