Tree Roots Retreat in Rayong City

Carol and Dennis who are managing the place were the highlight of our stay. We stayed only three nights, but would have loved to have stayed longer. Carol helped us arrange private yoga classes and get us a bike to explore the are. Carol and Dennis really did anything and everything they could to make sure we have a wonderful stay!

Location is great and in walking distance from the beachfront. Rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is fresh with good variety and you can use the kitchen to make anything you need to make you comfortable. Lots of options (and fancy machines) to make coffee through the day!

This place is really special - a beautiful oasis for the wellness of body and mind run by two of the loveliest, most interesting people in Thailand: Dennis and Carol.

If you enjoy any combination of nature, animals, exercise, ocean, yoga, Jiu Jitsu, local Thai community, and books this is the perfect spot for you.

I've been coming here for years and will hopefully continue to do so!

Loved staying here so much! Carol and Dennis made sure we were taken care of and were so welcoming and great to talk to. Aaron the owner was also fantastic to chat to. The library was great and it was overall a welcoming and chill atmosphere!

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of running a yoga retreat at Tree Roots Retreat, and it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. From the moment I first got in touch with the owner about availability until the moment we left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, everything was smooth and enjoyable.
The retreat space has so much to offer, a cosy swimming pool, a relaxing sauna, and an impressive library (book lovers will be amazed by the collection!). The location is perfect too, just a few steps away from the beach, making it ideal for peaceful walks and reflection.
All the participants were extremely satisfied with the comfortable room standards and the delicious food provided throughout our stay. Carol and her husband Dennis took great care of us, ensuring everything ran beautifully, and Aaron, the owner, showed such kindness and a great sense of humor that made us feel truly welcome.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, well-organised retreat venue surrounded by nature and good energy. 🫶☺️✨

I always feel warm and at home whenever I stay at Tree Roots Retreat. The place has such a cozy and peaceful vibe and it is surrounded by nature yet just a short walk from the beach. The staff are genuinely kind, calm, and pleasant which makes the whole experience even more relaxing (thanks Carol, Dennis and Aaron!)

The retreat is generally quiet, though you might occasionally hear music from the nearby beach at night. Nothing too disturbing, just part of the local atmosphere. The lush greenery adds to the charm, but make sure to bring mosquito repellent since it’s surrounded by trees and plants.

Overall, it’s a lovely place to unwind, reconnect, and slow down. I’ll definitely come back again. =)

Tree Roots Retreat is a gem for people looking for a weekend getaway to unplug. It is tucked into a field but still walkable to the beach, and my what a sight the sea was that weekend!

The whole place has a distinct character with mix-and-match decor & furnitures, but they all come together quite well and the overall ambience is one of coziness. To me it feels like the summer version of curling up by the fireplace with a hot cocoa when it's snowing.

The rooms are spacious with a huge bed, it is so comfy I could literally sink into it and disappear for a week! Each room also has a private "loft" which doubles as a reading nook. Don't fret if you forgot reading materials, they have a library there too!

What makes the place standout the most though, isn't all of the above I've mentioned, but rather the hospitality and sincerity the retreat hosts - Carol & Dennis - show to each of their guests. What a wonderful pair!

Very special place, thoughtful with every detail. Bicycles, books, gym, dogs - all good things. Carol & Dennis went above and beyond to make sure I had a nice time, definitely hosts with the most!

We were having great time here. Quiet and peaceful but convenient to main street, beach, town and restaurant.

Carol and Dennis that manage Tree Roots retreat are some of the kindest most interesting people I have ever met, nothing was a hassle and they are so accomodating for anything you need.

I have never visited Thailand and stopped here first after landing in Bangkok, they made me feel so at home and were so welcoming and taught me so much about Thailand, the culture and so much more.

The retreat has a gym, sauna, ice bath and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym which you can do group classes or one on one.
I did 3 BJJ classes whilst I was there and built so much confidence and self defence skills.

There is also a HUGE library with thousands and thousands of books some of which are hundreds of years old.

There are pet dogs, a tortoise, lizards, a cat, birds who are all people friendly, as well as local wildlife that you can also see living at the retreat.

The rooms were beautiful, clean and modern with a rustic feel.

The retreat is located about 5min bike ride or 10min walk to the beach which has restaurants and street vendors.
They provided me with a mountain bike to ride while I was there are also options to hire a motorbike which they can help you with.
Carol and Dennis also provided recommendations on where to eat/drink/ things to do.

Charming & peaceful little hotel near Mae Ram Phueng beach. I spent my 2 comfortable nights there with my family and it was a perfect place for a small kid and our 2 dogs. The room was spacious, clean, and well decorated. The place has lots of fun activities to do and has many cute animals. Staff are also very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back! :)
