Sangthian Beach Resort in Samet Island

What a gem of a place we found. Delicious food and great bar service. Excellent musical entertainment in the evenings. And a superb professional fire show.
If you appreciate musicianship, then pop along for dinner and drinks and enjoy the live music from 7.30pm. You will not be disappointed.
Highly recommend this wonderful place in a beautiful location.

Most of the bad reviews here are from people who didn't do their due diligence. This resort has a mixture of extremely old rooms, and extremely new rooms - it's up to you to know what you're booking.

I stayed in the Ocean Front Jacuzzi room, which is one of their new ones. The views are amazing, and its balcony is in the perfect position to enjoy the live music and fire show that starts at 19:30 every night.

The resort is very peaceful as it's far from the main beaches. Ao Thian is small, but beautiful with clear water.

The shower was very hot and very powerful.

The wifi throughout the resort was excellent: 300Mbps to 500Mbps.

The food at the restaurant was mostly excellent (chicken burger was a let down, but all the Thai food I ate was excellent). There was also a roti stall next to the resaurant, and the roti I had was delicious.

Very friendly staff who speak good English.

Up the hill there's a shortcut to Ao Wong Duean - Google Maps says it's a 20 minute walk via the main road but the shortcut takes 3 minutes (look out for the blue signs in Thai). There's a small store here called Tom Pizza Mini Mart which stocks the essentials, it's signposted half way along Ao Wong Duean so you can't miss it. There are also restaurants and cafes here.

You can do a nice walk from Ao Thian, to Ao Wong Duean, then Ao Chor, and finally Ao Nuan. Maybe you can go further but I didn't try.

Be prepared to pay charter price (300 baht) for a songthaew to take you to Nadan, unless you want to wait and see if other guests want to travel and share the cost. The ride to/from Nadan takes about 20 minutes.

Negatives:

Breakfast was poor - everything was cold. The coffee, even the fried eggs. Cold and unappetising. I skipped it on the second morning of my stay.

The AC unit in the room was a little bit too loud.

Overall I enjoyed my stay a lot and will visit again soon to take another break from the chaos of Bangkok.

My room was cozy and clean, and the bed was so comfortable that I slept deep and uninterrupted all night.
A perfect mix of great entertainment, amazing food, and total relaxation. Highly recommended!

Good nice place that has a lovely handsome black lab? And a white pup. Well the drink/ cocktail was delicious... Pizza was alright. Kinda like a biscuit crust hawaiian pizza

Very beautiful restaurant here great foods and good test.

Amazing veiw, lovely staff. I spent the whole time on the beach. Loved everything about it. Just wished for at least more than one person for speaking simple enough. Signs became a source of speech which were a little hard.

Stay at the new wing, DR 5. Very nice and clean. Wort every penny :)
