Tonsak Resort in Samet Island

Tonsak Resort is fabulous! Clean and so beautiful. The staff are friendly, and the food and drinks are delicious. It's also super conveniently located, with many restaurants, massage parlours, and two 7-11s nearby. I stayed at another resort on the island after this one, but I wish I had continued my stay at Tonsak. Highly recommended!

The room was quite spacious and newly renovated. The location was excellent, close to both the sea and the main street, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. You can even pay with Alipay at 7-Eleven. Be aware that children over 4 years old (or was it 3?) incur an extra charge of 700 THB per day for the room, plus 200 THB per day for the buffet breakfast. So, if you're traveling with kids, it's probably best to book a family room, as paying extra doesn't guarantee a room change – you'll likely stay in the same one. The deluxe king and twin rooms have a small bed that an adult can sleep on. The hotel has a restaurant where you can eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The prices are comparable to outside, though the portions are about half the size. The buffet breakfast was very rich and definitely worth it.

The room was quite new and spacious, and the location was excellent – right off the main street and bus stop. It wasn't noisy at night either. The beach restaurant was also good. Few staff spoke English, and no one spoke Chinese. Breakfast was decent.

The location is right in the middle of Diamond Beach, and the hotel is right by the sea. It's decorated in a very trendy, Instagrammable style, perfect for taking photos.
Adding breakfast for a child is 300🐷, and an extra duvet costs 100🐷.
I recommend bringing your own filtered shower head; the water on the island is really bad, and green algae comes out.

Just a short ride from the pier, walking distance. Clean and comfortable and the beach is gorgeous.

Facilities: The room is equipped with a refrigerator, TV, complimentary tea bags/instant coffee, free bottled water, and a large bathtub. There's also a sofa and a small table right outside the room.
Cleanliness: Clean.
Environment: The entire resort is surrounded by tropical vegetation, with lush greenery in the public areas, creating a fresh and natural ambiance. The resort is right next to the beach, boasting its own exclusive sandy area. The sand is clean and soft, and the sea is clear, perfect for swimming, strolling, or relaxing under a parasol. The direct sea view allows guests to fully experience the tropical seaside sun and breeze.

The initial service was quite poor, with no smiles from the staff. I stayed in a two-story beachfront loft, right by the sea. The location is absolutely superb – I genuinely highly recommend it! I honestly think it's the best-situated room on the entire public beach. The rooms further back are quite close to each other. To the right, the beach is lined with restaurants. The restaurants on the right side of the main street just outside the entrance were really not good. Of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel; I'm just pointing it out.

The next day, I asked for complimentary bottled water. A staff member said 'okay' but never brought it. When I went to ask again, they had already finished their shift, and there was no one around. So, here's a tip: if you need anything, go directly to the front desk.

I only stayed two days before checking out and moving to another hotel. However, the front desk staff here helped me transfer my luggage directly to my second hotel, and I truly commend them for that service! 👍🏻

Despite arriving early, the front desk wouldn't allow an early check-in, and we had to check out promptly at 11:30. Upon checking out, we discovered that foreign guests were allowed to check into *our* room early.

Really loved the outdoor environment. The restaurant and beach loungers were all free to enjoy. I even fell asleep on this beach twice – it was so relaxing!

The main roads were under construction, so we didn't rent a scooter and were happy just walking around nearby. The fried [local specialty] is a must-try – absolutely delicious!

Breakfast was pretty average. The straw bag provided in the room is great for taking out and getting some fantastic photos – very photogenic!

At night, I lifted the covers and found a dead spider.

Evenings were quiet; we didn't hear any loud booming music from outside.

The hotel's toiletries were amazing – my hair felt great, not dry or frizzy at all.

Pros : The room and location is very nice. We stay just 6 ppl in a villa so it was so spacious.
Can walk to the beach for just a few steps and we enjoyed a lot.

Cons : the door was broken but they fixed later still a bit hard to open. The slipper in the room is super thin, can’t wear properly. The breakfast line is mostly pork and the orange juice tastes not good.

Overall is GOOD!

The hotel is very conveniently located, next to the tuk tuk stop. Nearby there are markets, a lively street with cafes and bars, a market.

The room is small, but cosy.

There was no hot water in my room, but the problem was solved with the help of the staff, but the strangeness is that there is a large bathtub in the room, it was filled with water very slowly for about 1 hour and only with hot water, cold water was only in the shower and on the sink for washing, it's inconvenient.
The staff is not very friendly, the waiters on the beach insistently ask for a tip.

In the evening, a magnificent fire show takes place on the territory of the hotel and the beach.
