Kohhai Fantasy Resort & Spa in Ngai

I spent 3 nights in total in this hotel and in Ko Nghai in general. The hotel is right on the beach, which gives you amazing views everytime you go to have some food or just want to chill at the bar.
I was a little upset that i had no beach view from the villa, the layout was a little strange. Inside the villa was beautiful, looks new and was clean. If u book the awesome villas with the pool, u are set for the best place.
The food was very average, but to be fair, the whole island does not really have great food, what a shame.
Overall it was a peaceful and nice stay though.

Amazing location! Staff was friendly and service was good. The room was a little old. The bed was old and the shower had either scalding hot water or cold water. Why didn't our room have toothpaste and toothbrush? That being said, the view of the sea was incredible and massage was good. Pancakes were not bad ;)

Everything was great, the staff was excellent, especially the lady at the reception who cooks eggs and omelets in the morning, and the supervisor for the kitchen and waitstaff – all very charming and friendly. No problems or downsides whatsoever.

Otherwise it is a spacy room with big bathroom. Friendly staff, brilliant beach and good breakfast. Minus points because they must have forgot to clean the toilet after last guests probably had an accident there. Other than that it was clean. Had been nice with some chairs or sofa just somewhere to sit.

In this case, the phrase "value for money" has never been more fitting as a description. Overall, the hotel is good, with a wonderful location right by the beach (a beach with turquoise water). Yes, the rooms are a bit old, and there are some issues with cleanliness. But generally, everything is tolerable, and I can recommend it. This island is worth visiting (just don't forget your swimming shoes for the coral, as it's almost impossible to swim without them due to the risk of cuts or foot injuries). The staff was polite. We don't regret choosing it.

Very comfty bed (soft!), nice view from the hill. Ok service. Breakfast wasn't so good, there isn’t hand towels in room and there wasn't enough beach towels in resort! Some loud & high noise woke us up in the morning (and we heard it every now and then). Beautiful beach and good food (pricy tough).

This was my first time on Ngai Island. Since there are no roads, I searched for a place with easy ferry access.

The deciding factor was the availability of a check-in area for the return ferry. Without this, even if the hotel staff helped with my luggage on the way there, I'd have to carry it myself on the way back. I chose Fantasy Resort to avoid that hassle. Another plus point was the pool.

The beach in front of the hotel is shallow, like the others, but it's not too rocky at low tide and impossible to walk on, so you can enjoy the ocean at any time. There are plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and large trees, providing ample shade, making it comfortable to spend long periods on the beach. The proximity to the hotel bar was also a plus.

There are several room types, and I stayed in a standard room, so nothing particularly noteworthy. However, the beachfront rooms have their own pools, which, while not quite as impressive as the overwater cottages in the Maldives, do have a special touch. My only complaint is that they provide a pool in front of each room for guests to wash off the sand, but there isn't enough water to wash it off properly, so you end up bringing the sand back home with you. As a result, some of it got on the bed, leaving a rough, uncomfortable sleep.

The food was so poor that I would have preferred not to have the included breakfast at all, and I would like to see some improvements, even if it means paying a little more. The restaurant menu was limited in variety, but had a basic selection, and I was glad that they didn't have the pork that is common on southern islands. Naturally, the prices were those for an isolated island, and were similar to those of other hotel restaurants. I was tired of Thai food, so I ordered a steak, and they asked me how I wanted it cooked, but when it arrived it was already a little cold, so it was disappointing that asking was unnecessary.

Relatively speaking, I felt I was satisfied

Great beachfront location. You can snorkel directly from the beach to see coral reefs. Food is also reasonably priced. However, the room was dated and the air conditioning wasn't cooling effectively.
