Reviews
The best thing was the room, incredible level of quality and attention to detail.
The beach is ok (I guess really good for Thailand standards but you can find better ones in the Caribbean).
Nothing is included in the room price, not even the minibar, you have already paid 500 per night and they make you pay 1£ for a chocolate bar.
The prices for the laundry services were crazy expensive, like 1£ per t-shirt.
The staff was really amazing! From the time we arrived and we were welcomed, to the last moment - just perfect.
I would say it is for sure the best resort you can find in Ko Lanta, but keep in mind that nothing is included in the room price.
Gym and sports facilities were very good, I would have loved a Padel Court onsite... But that's because I'm an addict, but the Pickle and tennis courts looked good.
The bars / restaurants were all great as were the fantastic staff, all very attentive, when we did have an issue (Bose speaker not charging... 1st world problem I know!) it was sorted within 5 mins.
We both visited the Spa... I'm not one for massages etc normally, but it was very relaxing in a beautiful setting and would definitely do an it again (30 min Herbal scrub + 60 min massage).
Along the beach was the "Why Not Bar" which gave a good alternative option for lunch/dinner and 7Eleven around the corner.
A perfect venue, it's going to be difficult to beat this one on our 6 week tour around the islands of Thailand.
Our villa was stunning: spacious, private, and perfectly maintained, with incredible views and every small detail thought through. The beach is quiet and clean, the pools are amazing (especially the infinity pool overlooking the bay), and the food — from breakfast to dinner — was outstanding.
What really stood out, though, was the service. Every single member of staff went above and beyond — from the buggy drivers to the restaurant team — always kind, attentive, and genuinely happy to help.
Pimalai isn’t just a resort; it’s a complete escape. Peaceful, elegant, and absolutely worth every minute of the journey to get here. If you’re looking for true Thai hospitality and world-class relaxation — this is it.
The Deluxe rooms are nestled in charming 4-unit bungalows. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, providing stunning views of the ocean. Falling asleep to the soothing sound of the waves was a highlight of our stay.
The resort has a gorgeous, flat, sandy beach that is perfect for relaxing or a stroll to the nearby town for dinner.
For those interested in diving, the on-site dive school is a fantastic addition. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making it easy to enjoy the underwater wonders.
One of the most enjoyable experiences was during the happy hour, where we were treated to live music by Dori and Toni. Their performances added a delightful atmosphere to the evening, making it a perfect way to unwind with a drink in hand while watching the sunset.
Overall, Pimalai Resort is a slice of paradise that I highly recommend. The combination of beautiful accommodations and stunning views, make it a perfect getaway for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of Thailand.
We booked through the new Hyatt affiliation. We were upgraded to a fabulous villa.
Service was consistently exceptional, everywhere throughout the resort. Every interaction.
Excellent variety of restaurants and the food was always delicious and memorable. They also did a great job accommodating allergy needs.
The resort itself is built along a steep, gorgeous ocean hillside, and even at full capacity, it never feels crowded. They have golf cart buggy service on demand and we never waited more than a couple minutes to be picked up and delivered anywhere throughout the resort.
The pools, the spa, the beach, we experienced it all, and nothing ever disappointed. Every single corner of this property is spectacular.
There is a good mix of guests here. There was one group of expat women on a girls trip, some honeymooners/couples, retirees, and families. Everyone blended well.
I think we paid somewhere around $375 per night, which is an absolute bargain beyond belief for everything this luxurious property delivered.
FYI, we stayed only 2 nights because we were visiting many other places around Southeast Asia. We enjoyed an entire day just relaxing here at the beach and the pools. There are some excursions, but nothing crazy noteworthy except Phi Phi which is an easy day excursion if you’ve never been. We did not take the trip because we went there separately, but if you’re in the area and you’ve never been there, you should go. Otherwise, enjoy your time at this incredible resort and just relax without the need to leave and explore. We met some people who stayed an entire week here and I’m not sure I could recommend this length. I would go crazy and be very bored but it’s the perfect place to recharge for a few nights and then continue to travel around so many other great options in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Ko Lanta does have a small town and if you’ve never seen a night market in Thailand, obviously you should go, but otherwise, it’s just like all the others you will see throughout the country.
Last…. The spa, it is beautiful, and I had a treatment which I do highly recommend. But for the other days, we walked 5 minutes to a place accessible on the beach, practically next door, and it was 1/20 of the price. The therapeutic nature of the massage was quite similar, but it’s a no-frills atmosphere right on the beach.
Our hillside pool villa was superb - spacious, private, very comfortable and with special spectacular views from the private terrace and balconies.
The restaurants are great ( if somewhat expensive, compared to the available offers at local village and beach restaurants).
The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful at all times, maintaining an extremely high standard of service.
A wonderful stay at a fabulous hotel.
The food was overpriced and not what I would expect from a 5 star. It was often just above average.
Our happy hour drinks were pretty watered down.
The spa gave me one of the worst manicures (I think it’s more the spa’s facilities and equipment or lack thereof versus technician). When I complained, the hotel pushed back saying I didn’t report it before checking out when in reality the service was done on the day before I left.
Our room was the saving grace. It was very lovely.
All in all, I wouldn’t stay here again. I’d take my 5 star dollars elsewhere.
