This is my favorite place to stay when I visit Cappadocia. Elaa Hotel is located in Ortahisar, a small town near Goreme; an easy short drive away. Ortahisar has wonderful sights (i.e. Ortahisar Castle and Balkan Valley and Church). The hotel is small enough that you are not crowded and just another "number" in the crowd. You are treated like a friend who has returned home. The rooms are comfortable and because they are cave rooms the temperature is steady during the heat of summer and the cold of winter. You have your own bath and shower and a good Wi-Fi. There is a small community kitchen on the second floor of the main building you can use for your meals. The room rates are reasonable.

We had a great cave hotel experience, in a nice and authentic small city. True authentic cave rooms, it really feels as if you are sleeping in a cave. Warm welcome, lovely breakfast, cosy rooftop terras. Great location its 5min walk from city center.

We had the most beautiful stay at Elaa!
Rooms were massive & comfortable, it was so cool sleeping in a cave.
The owner, Ruth, was so kind & accommodating, & very knowledgeable on the area.
The manager, Necla, was amazing & so attentive to our needs- she cooks an amazing breakfast spread.
Will be staying here when I come back.

Had a lovely 5 night stay at Elaa Cave Hotel. Great base for walking into Ortahisar and getting around the region. Stunning castle views from the rooftop terrace. With an early morning flight into Kayseri, having check in from midday was great. Stayed in Rm 55, which in the photos looks like a double but was two singles pushed together. This wider bed made the room feel small. Bed was extremely comfortable. Great to have a fridge and hanging rail, although a few more hangers would have been useful. Delicious buffet breakfast with plenty of choices. Staff was very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Would stay again and highly recommend.

Great little cave hotel in a great location with wonderful views of Ortahisar Rock Castle from the roof terrace. Wonderful service and delicious breakfast. Our room was smaller than we had envisaged. Very comfortable bed. Handy to have a fridge in the room. And a hanging rail - few more hangers would be useful. WiFi was hit and miss. Had a lovely stay and Ortahisar was a great base to travel round Cappadocia in our hire car.

We were unlucky and got a bad unit. We didn't know about it on the first night. The unit had humidity issues. Bad funky smell in the bathroom. Bad smell in the entire unit. Ceiling kept falling apart and little bits and pieces of rock and sand kept dropping to the ground. We were with a group of friends, and our other room was fine. I'm pretty disappointed because this room was marked as the better and bigger room but it was worse - we couldn't use the couch because there were always sand and rocks falling on it, and it would be dirty

Amazing hotel. Beautiful cave rooms with all the amenities you need. We’re very helpful with booking airports transfers and tours within Cappadocia. Breakfast on the roof terrace prepared by Necla each morning was a highlight!
