I recently stayed at Salmakis Resort & Spa in Bodrum and overall had a good experience. The hotel is in a beautiful location, with a nice private beach and stunning views of the bay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and most have lovely sea views. The pool area is large and relaxing, and the bar serves great cocktails — definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is calm and absolutely pleasant.

That said, there are a few downsides. The Wi-Fi isn’t strong, especially in the rooms, which can be frustrating if you need to stay connected. Also, the walk from the beach back to the rooms can feel quite long and uphill, especially if you’re staying on the third or fourth floor. As for the food, it’s fine but could be a bit more flavorful. the snack bar by the pool actually has tastier options than the main restaurant.

Despite these, Salmakis is a great place to relax, enjoy the sea, and have a comfortable stay. With slightly better Wi-Fi and food, it would be perfect!!

Great beakfast. The staff was nice. Rooms were beautiful. The pool amazing. The manger was not so nice he seems to enjoy mansplaining things when he himself doesn't know how thngs work. That was the only downside.

Check-in was ok. The place looks ok but dated and decaying in some areas. The door has peeling faded paint and cracks. Our room had a light bulb out they said they would send someone, and nothing was done. The hallways have dim lighting perfect for a scene of a slasher or horror movie.

The breakfast is crap. It's from 7am to 11am. Arrive after 10 am. There is only sweets and cheese left. Staff is not helpful or even willingly to get an option. All they say is no more finish. Luckily, I always pack proteins for these situations.

Try asking about arranging a private car for my next stop. They want only luxury transport. Found online cheaper transfer.

The beach is a hike from the reception if that is where you are staying.

Do not recommend it.

I've been to the Salmakis 4 times now and always enjoyed our stay there. First of all I would say that the initial welcome from reception is not great. They could definitely be more friendly. They are not rude, but I think they have forgotten that first impressions are important. The rooms I have stayed in are all nice, especially the sea view rooms. They have a snack bar and a restaurant both of which are really nice. The main restaurant has amazing salads, but not too impressed with the fish or the meats, which were mainly turkey. But the vegetarian food was so good I was never short of a really tasty meal. Some of the waiters, especially the ones who have been there a few years only seem to serve single women. If you are a couple or a man they cant see you! The snack bar does nice turkish pizza and more basic salad and chips, but very good. The bar staff are all friendly but if you want a nice cocktail ask one of the older more experienced bar tenders. If you eat at the main restaurant you have great views out to see and also by the beach snack bar. The entertainment at night is ok, but its too loud and if you fancy an early night so you can get up just after sunrise forget it as the music is so loud until late. I think if they turned the music down or off after 11pm that would make it a lot easier to get to sleep. In the day time its beautifully peaceful on the beach and relaxed music which is not too loud by the pool. All in all a great place to spend time and its easy to get a txi boat to Bodrum from very near the hotel or walk in about 15 mins. I will go back again. I hope they see my comments and improve slightly to make it 5 star.

As soon as i checked in and wanted to shower, the bathroom had water all over the floor and the shower had issues and the shower head was very slow. I called them and they said will fix it, but I'm there for only 2 days do i have time to wait for my shower after a long flight?. I went downstairs to eat and they charged me for food instead of making it up for me with bathroom problems. After i finished eating i went to the room to shower and the water wasn't going through it was messed up and they said someone fixed it. Nothing was fixed and i don't recommend wasting time in this hotel as they claim it 5 stars. It's a 3 star hotel not 5 realistically speaking.

We have been to Salmakis a number of times and I was disappointed to see how the facilities have deteriorated and the common areas; beach and pool is not well maintained. I don’t think we will be back sadly.

It was my first time in Bodrum and first time in this hotel , honestly me and my mom we did enjoy so much staying in this property, delicious food , good entertainment, like karaoke night , dance show , pool party with foam and amazing view .

They are so professional when it comes to costumer experience, as if you have any concerns they will do their best and solve it immediately .

Cleaning was impeccable, everywhere in the hotel and the housekeeping will clean the room every day .

We enjoyed so much the spa , as it has jacuzzi, sauna , steam room .It was our best and unforgettable experience trying Turkish bath , thanks to the ladies who took care of us there .

Big thanks and regards to all staff and everyone who contributed to our beautiful journey in Turkey , definitely I recommend it ,and will come back soon .

This was not an easy review. The holiday started badly with very unclean and run down room but after complaining the second room we got was OK.

Overall we ended up having a very nice stay. The staff were excellent and the location whilst out of town it was excellently serviced by a lovely water bus that run from early in the morning till very late at night and only took 10 minutes to the center of Bodrum. The food was decent but I think could be improved. The main point to note is the hotel is quite dated. I thought there were enough staff around but I think management should be more on top of them. Often you see the staff chit-chating whilst areas need to be cleaned or tables remain too long before being cleared.
