Su Hotel in Bodrum

The hotel is located off a very busy street with no sidewalk or a driveway for it. GPS will bring you a wrong way and announce your arrival at a back alley of someone’s house. So you have to walk around, asking people how to get to Su hotel. You will not be able to park your car by the entrance to get suitcases out because the path to the hotel is a little maze taking you to a courtyard. Instead You have to drag your baggage about 5-7 min from the nearest parking lot along with high speed traffic. Parking is 20 liras a day. Do not recommend if you have kids, every time you want to get out you have to walk along this suicidal road. The hotel itself is very nice and super clean, its a mix of modern design with peaces of antique which are built into it a very good way. A big swimming pool is looking good too with lots of resting areas around. I can tell the owner likes keeping everything in order so it’s a big benefit of the place. Breakfast is good and tipical for Turkey. Eggs, cheese, fruits and vegetables + drinks.
BUT Be careful going out late, you will not be able to return to your rooms or get off the hotel. We had to leave early morning and desided to bring the suitcases at 11:40 p:m in advance. It turned out we were locked from inside. I made at least 20 phone calls, rang the bell, screamed but nobody appeared. We were like preasoners in this hotel. What if there is an emergency?! You are basically left alone, despite the fact that all instructions say that even a restaurant operates until midnight. Well at 11:40 p.m. the hotel was dead, just us. I had to barge in the kitchen to get a jug of water.
Finally at 5 a.m. we cheked out ourselves by throwing our luggage and climbing over the fence. We are early 30s, what if you are an old person who got stuck there?! Jumping off the fence is the last thing I want to do at a place I pay money for staying. Why there is no warning or at least a key for the front gate for internal use.....
