Nicea Hotel in Selcuk

Stayed in Nicea Hotel for a night. Decent room for the price paid, with local Turkish breakfast provided.

Not for the fussy, room is a little dated and basic, sufficient if you just need a bed for the night. No cigarette smell.

Very friendly owner. Location is great, walking distance to attractions nearby (Ephesus museum, Basilica of St John, etc) and a short drive to Ephesus Ancient City. Parking available along streets behind hotel.

Excellent location, the breakfast was very good, the staff wonderful, an excellent place to stay and visit the ruins of Ephesus.

It's conveniently located in the heart of Selcuk. Many guests praised its friendliness. The breakfast was also satisfying, offering a typical Turkish meal. St. John's Church is within walking distance, and the Ephesus Museum is right next door. This is a great value hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for several days. It is a very warm hotel with a good location and convenient for traveling and dining. The boss and front desk staff are enthusiastic, especially the boss is very friendly and humorous. The breakfast is great. If I go again in the future, I will choose this hotel again.

Very friendly family-feel hotel. location is best of none. it's on a flat ground (avoiding dragging suitcase up hill). it's close to the busy centre of town but also is located on a quiet street. The bus station to Ephesus is just across the street. Some local supermarket on the back side of the bus/taxi park area.

Location is superb, it is right next to the Efes Museum. We had a car so it wasn’t a big deal for us to go to the ancient city and the Virgin Mary’s tomb but even if we hadn’t, there are plenty of choices of public transportation. You can even walk to the ruins of the ancient city. The breakfast was nice, the staff was sincere and helpful. The cafe next to the hotel has good tea. And there are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. The castle is only a few hundreds away from the hotel.

We stayed 5 nights. Umut and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds and lovely shower and yummy breakfast. The location is perfect if traveling on foot, close to bus stop, shops and restaurants. The local sites are close to the hotel. Easy day trip to Ephesus, Kusadasi and Sirince. I highly recommend Nicea Hotel

The Situation;
We're travelling as a family group of 5, which means that in most places, we'll need two rooms to fulfil our needs. The booking at Nicea Hotel was for a 4 Person Family room and a 2 Person room.

The Good;
Our two rooms were well appointed & clean, with super comfortable beds & good bathrooms + hot water.

Breakfast was enough to get you going in the morning, but we found ourselves wanting by about 11am. The spread on offer was fair, local and fresh.

All the staff were great at every level, from the reception, cleaning staff and the breakfast staff.

The location is right next door to the museum and a short walk into town for a feed. There's a number of really good small restaurants in town too, but be prepared to shop around for a good deal.

The Not So Good;
The hotel was a bit dated, but not too much so. It was still very functional.

The Verdict;
This is a well run and fair hotel, suitable for families and couples in a good location. If you have a car, like we did, there's paid, secure parking next to the museum for a small fee.
