Ferahi Evler Otel in Ayvalik

The location was good, the bed was comfortable and I could tell the room was properly and thoroughly cleaned. Turgay took care of us very well. Yet, there were several issues. Overall, I found the place really overpriced, considering the facilities they offer. I am saying this as someone who regularly travels and stays in both independent/ boutique and chain hotels (a Hilton Diamond and Radisson VIP member).
There was a terrible smell in the room, which didn't go away despite us airing the room. It was probably due to poor pipes. We weren't given the wifi password, so we needed to call the reception at one point to ask.
In the morning, I didn't find Raşid very helpful in the morning; he was more interested in giving long lectures than giving a quick answer to our simple questions - he might not have done that if we were speaking to him in English though.
Oh, I need to also suggest future (summer) guests carry their mosquito sprays. The windows didn't have a flynet, and opening the windows would mean attracting mosquitos to the room. I was prepared, though :)

Location on water, paid extra one night for room overlooking water, magnificent view, can open windows and hear lapping water. However can also sit /relax at table in breakfast dining area which overlooks water. Staff friendly and could not be more helpful and kind.
