Residence Inn by Marriott Atasehir

Room service bangs on the door at Saturday before 9 AM, and is also very nice to sort your clothes by type when you step out of the door (unfortunately they'll mix fresh and used clothes in the process). Room key stopped working twice during a 7 day stay, and staff said it's somehow normal. Did extremely loud maintenance on pipes for hours, refused to stop even after a complaint that I'm sick and need some sleep. Room had neither toothbrush nor toothpaste.

Room had a black footprint on a sofa, broken cover on a socket, flat bathroom sink with a clogged drain, toilet brush too short to clean the toilet without getting your hands wet, and the cheapest chinesium electric kettle that smelled like plastic every time I turned it on. Light controls in the room are in Turkish and awkward. Water controls in bathroom require a PhD to take a shower. Air conditioning in a working room is hardwired to create polar environment, and made me sick.

Upsides: good breakfast, good hair drier, awesome location if you need some cheap food during/after work.

Second worst hotel I've ever been in (the first place taken by one with a rolling pubic hair ball in bathroom and suspicious white spots on a sofa). Random pick will likely get you a better hotel than this.

Water leaked from the ceiling and we had to change our room in the middle of the night. Things happen and we tried to understand. However, Yiğit at the reception made the whole incident even worse. Not a single apology and was very disrespectful towards their hotel guests who just experienced a major inconvenience. He was extremely unprofessional and we didn't want to deal with him so we asked for the manager but she too, didn't seem to care and wasn't helpful at all. They ruined our entire night and experience when the hotel was entirely at fault. We never expected such demeanor from Marriott hotels but this has been the worst we've experienced.

Stay away from this hotel!
This was by far one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. The service is absolutely terrible – nobody seems to care about the guests. The rooms are not cleaned properly, I even found screws lying on the floor (!), and broken door handles make it unsafe. The so-called “laundry service” doesn’t exist because the machines have been out of order for ages. After “room cleaning,” the towels were missing every single time.

The entire hotel reeks of nicotine – in the rooms, hallways, and even the lobby. On top of that, the staff are unfriendly and act annoyed as if any question is a burden. The condition of the hotel is simply disastrous – run-down, neglected, and nowhere near what a guest should expect.

Conclusion: Never again! This hotel is an absolute disgrace and desperately needs renovation and proper management.

Rooms smell really strongly like (bad) food, I was in 2 different rooms and in both this was a problem. It’s also quite loud and there are no quiet spaces like a conference room.
