Horrible Review: Sianji Well-being Resort, Bodrum – A Masterclass in Deception and Overcharging

I have stayed in many five-star resorts, but my experience at the Sianji Well-being Resort in Bodrum was so profoundly disappointing and financially predatory that it deserves a special category of awful.

My primary grievance is a blatant case of bait-and-switch overcharging at breakfast. I was aware my room rate might not include breakfast and was perfectly prepared to pay the advertised rate of R128 per person for a continental buffet, as stated on their hotel app. However, what transpired was nothing short of a scam.

Upon entering the dining hall, our room number was checked against a printed list, leading us to logically assume breakfast was included. We were seated and served. As vegetarians, our requests were simple: two toasted cheese, tomato, and onion sandwiches, three glasses of pineapple juice, and we inquired about pastries. They offered ice cream and chocolate mousse instead.

After eating, we were stopped and presented with a bill for a staggering 2,950 Turkish Lira (approximately R1150.00). This was not the continental breakfast rate. They had itemized every single component at outrageous, à la carte prices—charging us exorbitantly for two simple sandwiches, three juices, and the desserts they themselves offered. This amounted to nearly FOUR TIMES the advertised per-person continental rate.

This is our second visit. Everything is wonderful. The rooms are fantastic. The pool is small but private. Swimming against the backdrop of the uniquely beautiful view is a privilege. The staff are very attentive. The variety of drinks and food is sufficient. It's a place you should definitely visit and stay at during your vacation to feel special. It's a five-minute drive from the center of Kaş. Many places where you can do your shopping are within walking distance. I definitely recommend having dinner there. I especially recommend the shrimp. It's a very different presentation, a fantastic taste. You won't find it anywhere else. There is live music on Friday evenings. A peaceful and happy vacation awaits you.

We left the hotel in awe of its magnificent view. The birdsong in the morning, the sunset in the evening, the smiling faces of the staff, the spotlessly clean rooms, and the delicious, wonderful breakfast are the most important details that remain in our memories. Un Amor will definitely be at the top of our list for our next trip to Kaş 💙

Environment: In the innermost part of a community, near the sea, the scenery is very beautiful, but also relatively quiet. The location is not in the center of the town. There are only a few small supermarkets and no more than 5 restaurants nearby. If you have a car, you can consider it.

Facilities: There is no hot water at night. It is also very difficult to call the landlord to communicate. I waited for 20 minutes for someone to come to repair it. After 20 minutes of repair, it was not repaired. There was no hot water in the whole hotel.

Service: The service level of the homestay. There was no one at the hotel front desk at 6 pm. I called and waited for more than 30 minutes before someone came to CI. The next day, breakfast was said to be 830-1030. There was no one in the restaurant at 9 o'clock. After going out for breakfast, someone came back to prepare breakfast. It was already 10 o'clock. I don't know if there is a problem with the expression or it is more casual.

The whole experience is quite bad, especially for a hotel with a room rate of 500 in a small town. If there were no such problems, the scenery would be worth the price. Of course, most of the room rate was compensated in the end, which is still pretty good.

There was no one at the front desk, and no one answered the phone. I waited for almost an hour before a local called to check me in. They didn't even mention what time breakfast would be served. The service was extremely poor. The environment, however, was quite nice, and the scenery was beautiful.

We stayed in a room named Melisa, which had a balcony, a swing, and a wonderful view of the Greek island. The hotel, which offered a magnificent Aegean breakfast, is quite good value for money 🏝️ Thank you for everything, the gentleman and lady working there were very kind and always helpful.
