Friendliness from the staff throughout our stay from arrival to breakfast to checking-out. Room was huge for 3 persons, bathroom and sleeping area were spotless, beddings were comfy and fresh. Room was keeping us throughout our stay too! Highly recommended!

No amenities available ( ie. Shower shampoo and conditioner) No do not disturb for door. Room service trying to come in Each morning while we were there and seemed a bit upset we weren’t ready yet. No ramp for heavy luggage into building.

The hotel location is good, near the university, however, the room cleaness is not the best, and the car park is quite narrow.

Room was extremely small but clean. Hotel is old and it shows. Parking was almost impossible in a cramped back lot. Could not get breakfast - had to be ordered in advance.

Quickly and very helpfully resolved a check in issue. Very hospitable. Fab location . Had a lovely stay and hope to be back next time I'm in Glasgow

Excelente location with friendly staff. The lack of an elevator was an issue. If you can't climb stairs, request a ground floor room.
There's a nice river trail steps from the hotel.
The Botanic Garden and many good restaurants are a short walk away.

Nice location. Helpful staff. Parking was a little tight getting in and out but free. Clean. Close to botanical garden and west end restaurants.

The room was large and clean, the waiter was very friendly and helped with the luggage, and the area around the hotel was very quiet.

Good gig venue but the water is pricey and I didn't get my brolly back from the cloakroom. Realised when it was too late to turn back as it was so busy. I'll get over it.

Great location and bar. Loved the decor, good beer and good drink selection. Prices are good contrary to some reviews. £3.50 for a pint is standard for the UK. Londoners will love the prices for instance. Havent tried the food but it looks good from seeing it pass the table. Well worth a visit and we will be back when next in Glasgow.

Good bar with good beer and whisky selection. Has a good traditional feel and staff were friendly and helpful. Have been several times over the last few years.

The two stars are for the staff only, who were the only good thing about the place.

Went in for a quick lunch with the family yesterday after taking the kids to the nearby dinosaur event in the botanical gardens. The waitress who greeted and seated us was lovely and we've not complaints about the staff at all. We were seated and ordered some drinks and soon after ordered our meals. All good so far but after 30 minutes our starters still weren't out, another 15 minutes later they eventually arrive. After the starters were cleared we then had to wait another 30 minutes or so for the mains to come out and, just before they did, our waitress advised my partner that the dish she ordered was no longer available and would she like to order something else. She decided against it due to the time already spent waiting and didn't want to wait another 30/40 minutes for that to arrive.

The waitress was lovely and very apologetic but overall the experience was very disappointing. I personally ordered the club sandwich (who knows why it takes over an hour to make one) and I was very disappointed - it was bland, it was dry and it wasn't very tasty and I would have expected better.

So our quick lunch ended up keeping us in there for over two hours and we all left feeling disappointed. Safe to say we'll not be back.

Great service even when mobbed busy, good choice of different bars, seating areas, and restaurants. From designated bistro, to bar food in the main bar, functions upstairs in the magnificent Alastair Gray painted function suite, formal dining in the conservatory, and the wonderful Play, Pie & A Pint lunchtime drama series. This converted church is as much an Arts Centre as a diverse range of pubs, bistros and dining choices. There is also a fantastic whiskey bar with knowledgeable management and free tastings prior to buying. The outdoors beer garden is a bonus for smokers and sunny days. Nightclub in the basement and regular live bands in function suite and basement. Downside can be that the main bar is often just too busy at peak times, standing room only and a cacophony of loudly inebriated voices. BUT, it's open till 2 a.m weekdays and 3 a.m. Friday & Saturday and takes up the fallout of nearby pubs who mainly close at 11 p.m to midnight. Historic mid Victorian building and full praise to the owner who saved it from a likely demolition. There's a huge choice of eating and drinking places in Byres Road and the lanes alongside, but Oran Mor is definitely one of the best.
