On a road trip. Stayed here for just a night. It was actually cold so we couldn’t use the pool. Our room was great with a private outside sitting area. Room service delicious. We stayed at a quiet time, so I think it must be a real party style hotel in the busy season. Centrally located in Old Scottsdale.

I had a really great experience here! I was welcomed by Kenzie at the front desk. She was kind and accommodating. Although the hotel is going through some renovations right now, the location is phenomenal, the service is great, and the rooms are comfortable! Thank you Monarch! We will see ya soon!

I feel I got a lot of bang for my buck. I stayed at this hotel when it was under the Sonder umbrella many times and this was my first time back in over 1 1/2 years under the new ownership. My requirements then and now was a room that was quiet and had a separate bedroom and living area with a large table to set up my computer to work ( and a mini fridge). I got the superior king suite which meets that need. The suite compared to normal hotel rooms is huge! And the bathroom is the one item that keeps me returning. The tub is huge and separate from the shower in 2 seperate areas. There are 2 distinct bathroom areas which I love. It runs the whole width of the hotel room. The hotel room itself is always immaculately clean with tons of towels and toiletries. I do not like housekeeping service while I am ant an hotel and anytime I needed a refresher for coffee etc I was able to get asap from the front desk. I also like I can park outside of my room. There are 2 pools and one of the best hotel gyms I have used. The beds are super comfy and I really need to find out where they buy their bedroom mirrors because it is super flattering :).the hotel is the closest hotel to the old Scottsdale shopping area and minutes from the mall. So to the negatives... I would assume for others, but not necessarily for me based on what I care about... overall, the walkways and common areas outside (besides the pool, gym, etc) are still kind of run down. Elevators may give you a jump scare, ice machine may or may not work but they put up signs to direct to the next working machine. Balconies also off the rooms are not upgraded. But none of that is ever my concern. If you are inviting people over to be impressed with your posh hotel this is not the place for you... if you want a large and clean room that is safe and affordable this will be your jam as it ticks all of th I will say, the first room I was given was spacious but overlooking the main pool and I was unaware that they have music, food and drinks from 11-6 so it wasn't great with my working from my hotel room. I went to reception to inquire how long it lasts and if it is every day and when they said yes I requested to move rooms and they did so immediately to the far end without a moments thought! And said they just wanted me to be happy. And I was! The pools had plenty of towels and seats and beds and cabanas too and it was not crowded at all! The staff was great and kind and I appreciated the pre welcome text from Bryce and having the ability to text for any issues or requests and to check out via text. All in all for the 4 days where they had a special of 1 night free with 3 days, I spent 580 bucks or so and it was well worth it. I will definitely stay again.

I went to AZ to attend Mayo under not so pleasant circumstances. The staff here made me feel so at ease and welcome. Special shout out to Jordan in the restaurant/bar for befriending me and providing me with outstanding service no matter how busy or slow he was. Jordan went over an above to help me without any reason besides being an awesome human. The facilities were clean and very comfortable. Overall, I felt this place and the team fostered an atmosphere of health, wellness and rest (with a side of delicious margaritas made by Jordan). LOVED it and can't wait to go back in June. Thank you for overshadowing a tough time for me personally with all your hospitality, pleasant and caring staff, beautiful pool and gym facilities. Also, thank you Tod Miller's spa for providing the best massage I have had in years (hint: say yes to his CBD oil). Going forward, this will be my go to place to stay when I am in Scottsdale. Thank you all & see you soon!!

The pools were lovely. Very spacious and had relaxing beds by the pool. Also, there was a quiet pool and a hammock. The rooms are spacious, but there needs to be more staff on the grounds. It would have felt more secure if there were staff on the grounds around at night. The location is perfect - a quiet, large park where they have a market on weekends, and also within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops.

I reserved this hotel based on the images and testimonials. That was a significant error. Upon seeing my room, I approached the front desk to request an alternative accommodation or a refund, only to be informed that the hotel was fully occupied and that my reservation, made by credit card, was non-refundable. I contacted the firm online and was informed that they would not provide any refunds. This motel is antiquated, dilapidated, and unsightly.

Great new owners and the staff is great. They go out of their way to be helpful. Isabella took care of a large group of us and did a fantastic job. Handled our whole group over a 4 hour period and put up with us.Very attentive and brought in her colleagues to help with some Tech issues. Great day and we will come back Thanks

A group of 20 of us stayed this March and for the past three, at the Monarch. We get together once a year so we need a venue to catch up. Isabella took great care of us, and we really appreciate her service. She kept the food and drink coming with an easy-going attitude. The TV in the cabana was old and broken so ... they installed a new TV set in the cabana!! This is service above and beyond.

When I arrived, the hotel was sorting out a bug that resulted in rooms being double booked, this resulted in a 1 hour wait in the lobby. When I finally got a room, I found it to be lacking many basic features, such as a soap tray and a trash can in the bathroom. There was a TV in the room, when I arrived it was not plugged in or connected to the wifi, the TV didn't have cable, only streaming options. For the first 24 hours of my stay, there was a pile of towels sitting in the hallway by the stairs.

Isabella killed it by the pool! Love the live music and food. Megan was also a great help in getting us set up and we enjoyed our shared space. The pool was warm even with the 60° weather and staff was on point. Looking forward to the next. Thanks for everything!

Used to be one of my favorite places to go in the valley for a great burger or sandwich, and a martini - they also make great Moscow mules. Usually have great artwork that rotates, great bathrooms and a DJ playing loungy beats! Sad there's no smoking on the patio now, downgraded from 3 to 5 stars. Lame-o.

I was wandering around outside with my friends after visiting the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, having no familiarity with the area, and the music playing outside on the patio dining area was UNREAL. I couldn't help myself, I started grooving! So, of course, we were drawn in. The ambiance was divine; evocative sculptures and interior design, color scheme, and bar layout. It was so beautiful and pleasing to the senses.

Then! Our awesome waiter Bradley greeted us, obviously grooving to the beats produced by Josh (who is apparently known for his style), gave us great service and advice, and added to the cheerful vibe. I should add that I loved the volume of the music: loud enough to get the party going, but not so loud that I had to yell over it or strain to hear my friends. We were able to have a perfectly comfortable conversation.

The cocktails we ordered were spot on (compliments to the bartender!) and the food was delicious and the servings generous. Definitely a sensible option to split for diners looking for a lighter meal. Best of all, this experience didn't come with an exorbitant price tag! Drinks, starters and entrees are all between 7-15 bucks or so.

I am eager to find myself here again when I come back through town!

Visited today & everything was excellent. Pamela J was awesome, we loved her recommendations on the shrimp dish and the rum cake...too die for! You must also see the Christmas tree. Thanks Pamela.

We met a large group of people there. We weren't greeted warmly, instead we felt like a bother. The waiter was rushed and rude. Definitely not welcoming. When I suggested a smile, trying to lighten the mood, he blew his top, raised his arms and ran to the bar. Seemingly to report me. Finally, we asked to be moved. The waitress was 1st class. The appetizer wasn't great. But, the sandwiches were yummy. The manager was nice, but I never heard an apology about the waiters behavior. Not the best ambiance, food is ok, just be aware of the wait staff. At this place it's make or break.

The best thing about AZ88 is the always-changing art wall behind the bar. They often come up with great concepts. They are famous for their martinis, and that the wait staff does not spill them when carrying them on trays to your table. The food is typical bar food - a lot of (delicious) greasy/heavier options that go great after a night of drinking. The design of the space is looking a little tired - the dining area and restrooms have not been updated in about 10 years and it is showing. Especially the restrooms - not very well ventilated and some of the finishes are looking worn. But still one of the places to "be seen" in Old Town.

Great food, pricey drinks, but worth the cost. Would go back again. Trendy scene. Tacos are amazing. Table side guacamole was well worth it
26.12.2017 Justin
Was recommended as the best tacos in Scottsdale. They lived up to the great recommendation but were the only tacos we tried while in town. We all tried the pork tacos for two with the exception of one guest. The braised pork was fantastic. Each dish came with a chunk of pork shoulder slow braised in a delicious sauce with homemade corn tortillas and fixings to make your own taco. Very good, except that most of us filled up on the awesome table-side guacamole that we got for appetizers.

I’ve been to many exquisite restaurants but I have to say this was the perfect place to have my engagement dinner with my fiance. Best service I’ve had thus far, definitely recommend to all people that love a high quality meal and pleasant atmosphere. Definitely a night to remember, we will stop by again soon not for a special occasion this time but for another memorial night.

Mission is amazing. It took me a while to go into this place because I think there is so much good Mexican food around, how good could an upscale Mexican place be? REALLY @#$#@ GOOD. The steak tacos are worthy of a trip up to the place just for them. The guac and street corn together with the chips is a must have. I probably had the most expensive and most delicious grandma margarita I've ever had. On my most recent trip I tried the pork shoulder. It was like a slice of delicious melt in your mouth pork... I smoke pulled pork myself and that they are serving up is some next level tasty.

This is one of the best eats in old town. Great food and wines and very friendly service!! Table side custom Guacamole was killer good.
Drinks were generous and priced right!
Expect to be surprised by some of the fantastic twists to ordinary Mexican cuisine- really a gourmet version of non typical dishes.

The interior is stunning v and beautifully appointed decor.
Romantic and cozy but often packed so get there a little early.
Yummmmmmm! A favorite!!
