Reviews
When we arrived, I specifically asked the front desk to confirm that our room faced nature, as promised when I booked. Instead, we were placed on the west side overlooking a utility/restaurant building, patio seating, and mechanical vents. The attached photo shows the view from our patio. The constant hum of vents made it anything but peaceful—completely undermining the “natural landscape” experience the resort advertises. This was a far cry from the serene east-side views I was expecting.
The room itself smelled like smoke, the ice machine was broken, and the staff we interacted with were largely unknowledgeable and unhelpful. On the patio, the furniture was wet, and none of the fireplaces or heaters worked, making the space unusable in the evening.
The food was very poor, and the drinks were consistently served about ¾ full due to excessive ice, which felt cheap rather than premium. Overall, the resort feels oversold and under-delivered.
I also noted during booking that I was coming for my birthday, and I was explicitly told it would be noted and that something special would be done. Nothing was acknowledged—no note, no gesture, nothing.
One of the experiences we were most looking forward to was the resort’s stargazing, especially since it fell on the night of the super moon on my birthday. The night was clear and beautiful, yet when we went to the lobby, we were told stargazing was cancelled due to “no visibility,” which simply wasn’t accurate. This was another example of poor communication and lack of attention to guest experience.
The only real positives were that I received a healthcare worker discount, which I appreciated, and the hot tub was enjoyable.
Between the misleading room placement, constant noise, broken amenities, poor food and drinks, cancelled experiences, and inattentive service, this stay was a major disappointment. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to others seeking a relaxing, nature-focused resort experience.
To make matters worse, at 8:11 a.m., staff began using a very loud pressure washer directly outside our room. The noise was impossible to ignore and completely disrupted the morning. For a resort that markets relaxation and tranquility, this level of early-morning noise—without warning or consideration for guests—is unacceptable.
We wanted to take a night away from RV life so booked a room for Dec 30. A large part of our choice with this property is the setting and tranquility of the resort and grounds. We truly wanted the quiet since you never have that while in an rv park. We were woken long before 8 am by 2 barking dogs next door, which was highly disappointing and frustrating.
This morning while trying to enjoy coffee from our patio room, the Saint Bernard next door stuck its face through the patio grate and started making noises at us so we had to retreat to inside. Not an ideal pet owner, but also another "pet friendly" intrusion into our enjoyment & stay.
The likelihood of us returning again, especially at this price point, is unlikely. We will also share this negative info with others. Right now I feel like we would have been better off spending less & going to a chain hotel instead.
All of the staff were wonderful, and we did enjoy some good food & drinks in the bar. The pepperoni pizza was better than expected!
The hotel staff were extremely polite and courteous, which made us feel very welcome. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable.
We also really appreciated the heated swimming pool, which was a great feature, especially for families.
The only downside was that the hotel does not offer complimentary electric vehicle charging. If this could be added in the future, it would make the stay even better.
