I am submitting this letter as a formal corporate complaint regarding the conditions and management practices we experienced during our stay at a Motel 6 property. The conditions were unacceptable, unsafe, and failed to meet basic standards of habitability, cleanliness, and customer care.
Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed strong and persistent odors, including dog, cat, and cigarette smoke. I suffer from asthma, and these conditions posed a direct risk to my health. The odor was present throughout the room and bathroom and was not resolved despite bringing this concern to staff attention.
Additionally, the air-conditioning unit was not functioning properly. The room remained extremely hot and humid, with no effective cooling. The excessive heat made the environment unsafe and physically distressing.
We also encountered a significant insect infestation, including cockroaches and multiple types of spiders (small, medium, and large) in both the room and bathroom. The corners, crevices, and hidden areas were visibly dirty, indicating poor housekeeping and maintenance practices.
The bed was defective and unsafe. The springs were clearly felt, causing back pain. Due to the unstable and slippery edges, I fell off the bed, resulting in physical pain and fear. This occurred three separate times during our stays at this Motel 6. A bed that presents a fall risk is a serious safety concern.
Our concerns were not properly addressed, and staff failed to take meaningful action after complaints were made. Basic necessities, including toilet paper, were also inadequately supplied.
The property is currently managed by a new manager named Chris. Based on statements I personally heard from other guests and staff, he is widely perceived as rude and unprofessional, and several employees have expressed intentions to resign due to his conduct. This lack of professionalism was consistent with the poor customer service we experienced.
Although we were told “sorry,” no corrective action was taken to remedy the issues.
Given the totality of these conditions—unsanitary environment, health risks, safety hazards, and inadequate management—I believe this property failed to meet Motel 6’s brand standards and basic lodging requirements. I respectfully request that this matter be formally investigated, and that appropriate corrective action be taken.

Also, even though I reserved a Queen bed, I had to accept 2 double beds or wait 2-3 more hours for a Queen (6 pm)
