During my stay, there was some creepy guy and he had to be escorted by the police because he didn’t want to leave the hostel. Also i feel like all the people who stayed there were living there because they had all their stuff.

I come check in for a few days every few weeks and am rarely disappointed. Every room I've ever been assigned to is always been up to par. Big shared kitchen , EZ to reserve , pay and check out. I save a fortune on shady hotels and motels when I'm in LA. The tenant rank some of the koolest and most diverse even the on-site security guards be chill. Highly recommended.

This is the cheapest hostel in L.A. for a reason. My friend booked it for us with the idea of saving money but it is 100% not worth it. Our Uber driver pulled up and asked if we were really staying here, then told us that if we end up going out later to not go out alone.

We were met at the front by a group of dudes who said the manager was out back in a garage, we walked around and found him in an open garage with a bunch of folding chairs and tables covered with junk food and papers taped to a wall with a zelle code on it. He had us sign wavers/release forms/whatever and we went up to the room. There were literally holes cut into the dry wall to expose wiring/piping and the entire building was generally dirty. The room had 3 of the cheapest bunk best known to man. They shifted around when climbing up and the beds themselves were trash. We spent less than 20 minutes there, and that was just so we could find and book a different room somewhere. Walked out, caught a bus, and 20 minutes later we were in drastically better area for like $30 more than what we paid here.

Seriously, don't waste your money. Chances are you'll just have to spend more on a better place anyway.

This is not a hostel. It's a halfway house for homeless. The people sharing my room literally had their belongings in a bindle on a stick like 1930s transients. One guy was bedridden due to his weight. Google needs to remove this as a booking option. It's a nice halfway house for LA's many homeless, but no tourist should be tricked into a crack den. I cannot stress this enough. Every 5 star review is from a homeless person. 95% of people there are homeless semi permanent residents. If you have to wonder who there is homeless and transient, it's everyone but you. DO NOT STAY THERE.

Don’t stay there, especially when you’re alone. The area doesn’t seem safe at all. The management was super unprofessional and the whole hostel was super dirty. The beds in the rooms were fine and I liked that our room had its own bathroom but it wasn’t clean and the shower didn’t work properly. We had to use a tool to start the shower but the water only came out of the wall so there was no chance to shower. No towels were provided and the kitchen was an absolute mess without any utensil. There was a pile of used pots and dishes in the sink and still in the evening no one seemed to care about cleaning them up. We had to eat out of a pot (which we had to clean beforehand) because there weren’t any plates. The coach was full with crumbles and stains and at night people were playing load music.
I would not stay again.

Rooms were not well kept as it depends on who is in your room at the time. However, new beds were clean and comfortable. Our request for 5 of us to share a room was denied and we were split up at check-in without prior notice. Other guests cursed at us and outside residents were loud and always loitering near the entrance. Overall presence did not feel safe. The inside kitchen was nice and there were two fridges (both filled to the brim with guests' personal stuff) and a small TV area with a couch which was a spacious community space. I think it depends on personal comfort and preference, but cheap is cheap. We left early and re-booked at a Marriott Hotel.
