Excellent room and staff at this location and unbeatable pricing to be only one block from the water! Room was more than adequate; nothing else needed unless you are the type who spend all your time inside the hotel while on vacation.

The rooms are a awesome deal. Staff is great. However, if you're looking for a place that's "kid friendly" move on. This hotel is known for a party spot. Also, if you're looking to spend a lot of time in the pool again, move on. There was several wads of hair in the pool...YES hair. The pool needs to be paid much more attention to. Also, there are not enough umbrellas around the pool.
So, if you don't have kids and are looking to spend most of your time literally across the street at the gorgeous Clearwater Beach. This place is a huge bargain.

For a cheap quick getaway not a bad place. But could use some renovating as well as a better breakfast.

Still the best choice! Great motel in a great location. You are at the beach in literally seconds. Room 22 is our favourite. King-sized bed, little kitchen and the best bay view. Just the people on the front desk were a little cold which was a downer.

I have grown up going to the Sea Captain. Up until this past year I had nothing bad to say about the hotel. However this year was HORRIBLE. The hotel is officially completely a hole in the wall Motel (I would no longer consider this a Hotel). The rooms are disgusting and in complete shambles. Now, I would have overlooked all of this if the hotel cared about the safety and comfort of their guests. This year my family and I (young kids included) were surrounded by upper teens that spent their time yelling, swearing and boozing it up. I actually called Pier 60 to complain 3 times and nothing. I contacted a Manager by the name of Ashley I believe who offered us a discount towards a future stay.....ummm I don't think so. I requested to be reimbursed for the night I had to complain 3 times and nothing was done. Do not stay at this Motel or Pier 60. There are so many nicer accommodations along the beach. The customer service doesn't deserve business.

This is a sweet little Motel right off the main Clearwater Beach Road. It is right next to the marina with all the little tour boats going out. It is a little dated, but very Charming. Disappointed that it's closing next year. The room is very nice it has a microwave and refrigerator, stove small kitchenette. The king size bed is wonderful. It is right off the main Clearwater Beach strip area so food Shops grocery area very close by. Great little balcony area overlooking the Marina Bay to watch the boats come and go. Price fantastic. Wish they were not closing in one year. Lots of restaurants and places to eat within walking distance and if you don't want to walk you can catch a cute little bike ride or a free taxi ride for tips. The beach is just a walk across two to three blocks very close you can see from your window.
