Home Hostel in Shkoder

Amazing! I was visiting from Boston and loved my stay here. Gregor is super clean and nice, he even took the time to take me around the city and show me the beautiful attributes of Shkoder. The hostel is one minute away from the center of the city. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone. THE BEST!

Home hostel is very welcoming place with good location, and very kind host Gregor who is making you feel like home. Definitely, I would come back!

Great host and great hostel. We stayed in a double room that was clean, recently renovated, and brightly lit, with a large window onto the courtyard. The location is ideal on a side street off the main pedestrian zone, so it is quiet yet accessible. But best of all is the host, Gregor, who is unbelievably kind and welcoming and can help with any and all information you need on your travels.

I was re-directed to Galley Hostel by the superb Mi Casa, Su Casa hostel and didn’t know what to expect. Couldn’t find any reviews online. Turned out that Galley Hostel has only just opened. The two guys that run it (an Albanian and an American) gave me a warm welcome, showed me around and explained their dream with well-justified pride. On the premises of a former school in the vibrant centre of Shkodra, it couldn’t be more perfect. A huge playground, elegantly re-purposed, holds little nooks, tables and is developing into a multi-use courtyard with games, music, bar and chill-out spaces. Zac (the American) has hostelled widely and knows what is needed, knows the details that make a place special. He is creating the best hostel experience he can dream up. ‘I’m charging for a room but I’m really selling an experience’, he smiled. I paid €10 Aug 2022. Brilliant value. Right now, even under construction, Galley is a great place to stay but give this place a year or two and it will be the best hostel in Albania.

Everyone who is working there are speaking good english, the owner has a great attitude towards the personnel and that reflects on the great service. Also the owner knows everything you need to know. The rooms were clean, the toilets impeccable. We had a solid breakfast. As a group of 11 when we arrived by car at 10pm we had a beer all together while listening to music. Great experience, 10/10 would go there anytime.

The hosts Gregor and Alexander were very helpful and nice.
Great located in the center, just by the pedestrian street.
Highly recommended in Skoder!
